Fury debacle: So many options for replacement, will it be someone decent?

Chambers..wont be him they sparring partners an been living togtheer for the last year...dont think it will be Thompson southpaw to tricky with only a weeks notice.

 

Unfortunately it's not that easy. When you train for an opponent, you prepare for his style. Chisora has a well defined style, he's not a variegate fighter, so basically no one else could be picked based on it.

Tony Thompson is even on the opposite side of the spectrum, he fights COMLETELY different from Chisora, and is a southpaw.

But i really hope that, depression aside, Fury finds the will to accept Thompson. It's important not to let it go, and honestly i think Tyson could win well. And he too seems to believe it, so, c'mon, let's make it done.

 

I'm pretty sure their will be no substitute.

 

Tarver and Ortiz are also options, Chambers isn't.

I wanna see Briggs though. He is in shape and ready to fight anyplace, anywhere, anytime.

 

Well if Fury can't beat Thompson handily now then he has no chance of challenging Wlad who is at a whole different level up talent-wise. Fury should just roll the dice and accept the Thompson fight. If he wins he gains status big time and if he loses he shows he's a scrub and can move into a different line of work. He seems to suffer depression and probably is a little fragile mentally for the sport of boxing. Cool customers like Wlad thrive in the rough and tumble world of boxing. I like how he repeatedly punked David Haye in the lead up to their fight and turned loud mouthed Haye into a petulant child. Fury shows extreme levels of confidence followed by long periods of depression and weight gains. He may be bi-polar. Hughie Fury seems to be a tougher character mentally and may go farther in the pro game.

 

If he doesn't fight Ustinov who's in camp then it will be a joke. I bet some joker like McDermott is brought in to complete their trilogy.

 

Let the man show that he has guts and call out Haye or Wilder right away!

 

Fury has unreal confidence he'll probably fight him on a week notice

 

Translation: Fury talks a good game.

We'll see if he has any confidence when we see if he and his camp will take on a decent opponent on short notice. Keep in mind for all the "Thompson's a southpaw" or "this guy's style is nothing like Chisora's, too risky" talk, that whoever steps in will be facing a Fury who has had a long and dedicated training camp geared toward being at his peak on a certain date and the opponent will be lacking that.

Taking that into consideration, Tyson should be taking on anyone willing.

Do you guys seriously believe Fury has any say on whether he will be fighting this w/e.

F-Wank is the one calling the shots here. And he had big $$$ invested in this fight, and the Monday after we find out this fight was losing $$$$, Chisora pulls out with a fracture.

I havent seen the X rays, so I couldnt tell ya if I believe it or not. A fracture can be seen for decades on Xray, and be completely healed with no pain. A clean break is something altogether different and there would be swelling and pain and stiffness.

Chisora said he waiting the w/e to get medical opinion before cancelling. That sounds fishy to me. If it were broke, he'd been able to tell immediately. If it's not swollen up, then it's very minor and would likely not change the outcome.

Enough about whether it's bogus or not.....point being, if F-Wank wanted this to be a go, he'd already have a replacement. Fury woulda already announced he'd be kicking the shiit out of Briggs or Toney or Thompson or whichever person agreed to take the short stack F-Wank woulda surely been paying.

The rumors Ive read say F-Wank was paying somewhere in the neighborhood of 750K USD for this main.......or 550-625K gbp......it was a good payday for both guys for a domestic level scrap. But NO CHANCE IN HELL, F-Wank is gonna cough up that kindof $$$$ for a replacement. 250K gbp????nono:nono Thats why Briggs was all up for this fight. Nothing to do with confidence in beating Fury, but everything to do with the amount of money CHisora was supposed to be making. 300K for a non title fight is a HUGE amount, and IM sure every old timer around was on the phone with F-wank adding his name ot the list.:rofl:rofl:rofl

 

This, I don't see Fury letting the victors mandatory IBF spot from this fight potentially go out the window should he lose, or receive a freakish injury that sidelines himself. I'd absolutely prefer to see him in the ring this weekend, but against somebody with a pulse. Not another Abell, or Manddalone. If that were the case, I'd rather him just wait for Chisora to heal. He would gain nothing from such a fight, besides shaking off some ring rust. And the fact that I haven't heard him calling out every other fighter as a potential late substitute makes me believe he's not looking.

 

briggs is a ghost of vitalis past, stop mentioning briggs the roidman.

thompson or ustinov or wach they are legit challenges and similar size to tyson fury.
