Just the fact that we are talking about when Tua could take a declined Tyson shows that Tyson was significantly better. We cannot talk about Tua wiinning unless Tyson is well past it AND Tua is not just the headhunting, low workrate guy he became.

I think Ruddock hit as hard as Tua or almost anyone, which is different from whether the shots were telgraphed & the potential he left on the table due to becoming enamore of "the smash".

Tua had an iron chin, Tyson would get a UD & not gas in or near his prime.

Sure Tua can hang with Tyson for a time, hence why I stated he might even last the distance. But every time I bring up Tua and his less than stellar performances against the above - others claim it is a styles thing and that Tyson didn't fight that way. I agree, Tyson was better than the above that troubled Tua. I agree with Azzer and his assessment. It's gonna take more than a high flat top fade and a left hook to beat prime Tyson.

We don't know how good Ibeabuchi was or could of been, his career was cut short but he looked great while he was in the ring. He probably wasn't in Tyson's league skill wise but he had phenomenal knockout power, just as hard or even harder than Tyson. Tua stayed in with Ike and Took his hardest shots. Tua was never stopped in his career and only dropped once in the twilight against Barrett, Tyson isn't knocking him out. Tyson on the other hand got stopped 5 times. It won't be an easy breezy fight for Mike. Tua would stay pressed against him trading shot for shot at a high pace for 12 rounds like he did against Ike. The question shouldn't be whether Tua can take Tyson's shots, it's whether Tyson could take Tua shots and for how long.

I agree to an extent. Tyson is proven at the championship level whereas Tua regressed at the highest level. I remember him getting rocked in the Rahman rematch right at the bell. I don't care who you are but nobody will walk through Tyson's shots over the course of a fight, or vice versa. Both have excellent beards but Tyson has the better fundamentals AND is far more proven than Tua.

The Foreman fight was BEFORE the Ruddock fights,

Tyson was ranked no1, Ruddock ranked no2, if my memory serves me correctly.

Holyfield opted to face Foreman, who up until then, had beaten club fighters and a former LHW in Qawi.

One was a young dangerous fighter in his prime (Who even Tyson had been accused of ducking since '89), the other an old legend who nobody was taking seriously and everyone thought he was a joke.

Evander chose to fight the latter. Hence why Tyson had to face Ruddock.

If Holyfield had opted to face Ruddock, we would have seen Tyson/Foreman, hence why Don King had them on the same card previously, to build interest in the fight.

That Foreman, prior to facing Holyfield had fought in 25 fights, nearly 80 rounds in the previous 4 years.

Tyson, prior to facing Holyfield had fought in just 8 rounds in 4 years.

An active fighter (regardless of age) will perform better than an inactive fighter.

In Tysons 4 years away, Holyfield had fought some of the best heavyweights of the decade in Foreman, Holmes, Bowe, Mercer, Moorer etc, you think Holyfield didnt improve as a fighter in those years?

For those claiming Tuas chin would hold up.

Tyson sent Holyfield flying with the first punch he threw in their '96 bout.

Tyson outjabbed Lewis and Holyfield in certain periods of their fights.

Thomas, Holmes, Spinks, Tubbs, Ruddock and Buster Mathis had never been stopped before, until Tyson got hold of them.

Tyson/Bowe fought Holyfield, Golota, Seldon, Biggs, Tubbs, Buster Mathis, Jesse Ferguson. Tyson stopped all of them much quicker than Bowe (except Holyfield of course)

Tony Tucker fought a prime Tyson and a prime Lewis, neither of them were able to stop him, the only other guy to share that accolade is Evander Holyfield. Even though between them Tyson/Lewis had stopped Biggs, Bruno, Botha, Golota, Biggs and Ruddock.

Mathis Jr - fought Bowe, Biggs, Williams. Tyson was the first to stop him

Savarese - Fought Holyfield, Foreman, Izon, Grant, Buster Douglas. Tyson was the only one who stopped him in one round.

Etienne - would go on to beat Brewster (who beat you know who), he fought Valuev, Oquendo, Botha, Brock. Tyson was the only one who Kod him in 1rd

Stewart -fought Foreman, Holyfield, Moorer, Maskaev. Tyson was the only one who stopped him in one round.

Bruno - lost to punchers like Witherspoon, Lewis and Smith. Tyson stopped him twice, both times quicker than the rest.

Williams - fought Tillis, Holmes, Ferguson, Weaver, Cooper, Morrison, Berbick, Witherspoon, Bruno. Tyson was the only one to KO him in one round

Tyson broke Golotas facial bones and made him QUIT, something Bowe couldnt do. And Tyson was probably more past it than Bowe was.

Tyson could and most likely would crack Tuas chin. Whereas Tyson is tried and tested against a Tua like fighter in Ruddock and that wasnt even Tyson at his best either and some of those shots he took for fun and even smiled at Ruddock as well. Plus Ruddock was a big huge guy, Tua would have no size advantage over Tyson at all

Now please compare Tysons record against Tuas.

Yes, but but but Tua ko'ed Moorer, Ruiz, Izon and Maskaev (and Fres Oqendo)

Tyson was completely superior to Tua in every department. As for question of Tysons chin, that may be more due to styles, even in Tysons losses he was the aggressor both against Douglas and Holyfield, he easily could have finished those fights on his feet had he focused more on patience and defence, but he didnt, he kept rushing in trying to finish both guys off (and it nearly worked against Douglas).

Tua on the other, once he knew hes getting taken to school shuts up shop and is happy to make it to the bell.

Tyson may have been knocked out but thats because he fought much more aggressively and passionately than Tua

And Tysons stamina only really came into question during the first Holyfield fight where he was huffing and puffing after 4 rounds

With the style he fights, Tuas got no chance of making it to the final bell against Tyson at his best. He'll be getting hit hard, fast and often

You've got it wrong again, there were talks of Holyfiled vs Ruddock but Holyfield decided to fight Bowe instead who was unbeaten and the legitimate contender.

Like I said why would Holyfield duck Ruddock but face two fighters who already beat him??

All those examples you posted mean jack ****, what's Tyson knocking Holyfield off balance in their first fight got to do with being able to knockout Tua?? Holyfield wasn't hurt or stunned in both fights!

Razor Ruddock is nothing like Tua so another bad comparison, Tua almost certainly hit harder, didn't telegraph his punches and had a much better chin than Ruddock.

Tua never really got bullied or pushed back like Tyson and kept his deadly power to the end unlike Tyson, see how Lewis basically bullied Tyson after the middle rounds but would not dare open up as much against Tua.

Fact is both fighters never fought anybody pretty similar to themselves who could hit as hard as they could and I don't believe either of them would have been keen on the fight.

Holyfield wasnt off balance, he was HURT. Holyfield himself has admitted this. FFS if you cant see Holyfield was hurt by that punch then you should stop commenting altogether.

    Based on what?
Who did Tua actually knockout which makes him superman? glass chinned, past his prime Michael Moorer? Oleg Maskaev, who was ko'd in one by Mcall?

And? fighters HAD to push Tyson back to keep him off them, with Tua, he was much easier to outbox. See the Lewis fight, Lewis repeatdly leaned on Tyson and pushed him down, whereas he put a complete clinic on Tua.

Kept his deadly power up until the end, to knockout....Fres Oquendo and David Izon? is that some achievement? Tyson nearly kncoked Buster Douglas out, theres evidence of Tysons late power.

Lewis was forced to open up on Tyson because of the aggression Tyson was bringing. All Tua did was plod plod plod, follow Lewis and Oh walk into the ringpost like a complete idiot. Lewis also opened up on Golota, Ruddock, Vitali.....why? because these guys posed a serious threat. Tua posed no threat so Lewis took him to school.

Azzer just like to correct you yet again, the Foreman vs Holyfield fight was after the Tyson vs Ruddock fight. Thanks for the apology by the way....

Maybe Don King could promote Wass v Azzer ?

Tua ranks alongside Cooney as the most over rated HW on here. Michelle would have smashed him....dont often agree with Azzer...but Tua would be happy to survive.

If you really believe that Holyfield was hurt then I'll leave it at that hahaha. The only man who was hurt early in that fight was Tyson who was stunned badly in the second round, pisses all over the myth that Tyson needs lots of punishment to be hurt.

Based on actual visual footage of his knockouts, no way in hell did Tyson hit harder than Tua, either early on or late in a fight.

Lewis opened up because after 3 rounds Tyson was there for the taking, even Emmanuel Steward was screaming at Lewis who could be too cautious for his own good.

Fact is Tyson was beaten up and badly hurt by Lewis but Lennox couldn't rock Tua at all despite landing big right hands throughout the fight.

    Amazing response.

Wait, arent you the guy who said Tyrell Biggs was shot at 15-0 when he fought Tyson, because he was taking drugs and partying etc

but then refuse to afford the same excuse to Tyson against Douglas?

You have no credibility, go away :hi:

Thats the thing, i dont think he will. he'd be getting hit too hard, too fast, too often. He wont be seeing the final bell

Tyson has a field day with Tua.
