A while back Junior Makabu fought a guy named Rubén Ángel Miño. He was a last min. replacement, so I googled the guy, and saw he was 20-0 (20)! Impressive right? Then I googled him on youtube, and presto I saw him looking like a blown up jr. welterweight win by way of dive...I mean ko. The guys on the telecast during the Makabu fight were talking about Mino's power, but you could tell Makabu was not concerned about it lol. Bezerra looks better, but not by much, and may be looking for a similar fight to Mino, by appearing as a last min. stand in with a flashy record. Then again he may be looking to get ranked by staying busy, since fighting a bunch of 10-0 guys you never heard of is a great way to get ranked in Boxrec, and the IBO, LOL!

I'm still having some doubts in South American boxing. There are a lot of Brazilian/Argentinian fighters with good records, but for example heavyweight Irineu Beato Costa Junior was 15-0 and came to Europe and was schooled easily by Christian Hammer and knocked out by Joseph Parker. There are many fights in Argentina, but there are not a lot of fighters who are really world class with exception of Maidana and Matthysse.
Hey, im from Brazil. William Bezerra is not considered one of our prospects. He doesn´t have a good reputation here because his manager is Mike Miranda, who is a "boxer" himself...with a very padded record and always get easily destroyed when goes outside brazil. Despite the videos..the guy still is a fake because NOBODY in brazil knows those ones he did beat. There isn´t that much of undefeated fighters in brazil...the lack of talent here is a big problem...and you guys will truly believe we had 10 undefeated fighters in the cruiserweight division and all of them got beat by this only guy? this is fake, those padded records are made only in boxrec and that fights are not real. Laudelino Barros (A cruiserweight from Brazil. Average level but at least a boxer who fights real opponents) challenged Bezerra...and he did not accept. The idea is to protect him until he gets some good paycheck. Take a look at the Mike Miranda effort in this fight. They quit even when they don´t get right clearly. These guys only want the paycheck. We don´t have any great fighters right now. But the "brazilian suck" slogan got very strong because of those fake ones. They are very different of the real boxers we have..who are not special but at least come to fight and have real experience at the sport like Patrick Teixeira (a prospect) Jackson Junior (A gatekepper,decent one) and George Arias (A journeyman who always come to fight).
