I guess this notion that the fighters aren't the same after a KO is indeed true. Posted here on Boxingnews24, here's his quote.

“It’s [Pacquiao vs. Chris Algieri] is going to be a good fighter,” Hatton said to IFL TV. “It was a crushing knockout defeat. Any knockout is tough to come back from. I know when I got knocked out by Floyd Mayweather, anytime Juan Lazcano hit me, I felt like he was going to knock me out. I think he needed a little time to get his confidence back. But bit by bit, he’s coming back near his best performance. Mayweather had an off night [against Marcos Maidana], we give him that. Besides that, Mayweather is coming near the end of his career. You know, he’s past his best and Manny’s past his best. If the fight happens, it would still be a major fight.”

Not good for a top fighter of Floyd and Pac's caliber to fight guys coming off of losses or KO losses.

of course. Floyd beats everyone first.

which is why i say Floyd's win over Cotto > Pacs win over Cotto

    Floyd - Pac

154 > 145. Add to the fact that Cotto was on his way out the division

Pac fights him off Margarito bricks. He wasnt the same.

Floyd fought a confident Cotto. A strong non drained Cotto, off 3 tkos.

I think it was probably an accumulation of things with Hatton. Taking shots off Tszyu didn't do him any good, excessive drinking and eating between fight did him no good and then getting hit by Floyd, his head hitting the ringpost and bouncing off the canvas didn't help and then obviously Pacquiao putting his lights out did him even more harm and then to top it off more drinking and cocaine.

Floyd fought a damaged confident Cotto.:deal

Of course, Cotto was confident because he was fighting Floyd the feather fisted ducker of Pacquiao.

Come on man. I thought it was cheap what manny did, but he put a savage beating on him at least. The cotto Floyd fought was the same version who lost to Austin trout, flat.

As for the thread, getting knocked out, especially for the first time, changes you psychologically. Doesn't matter who knocked you out.

That's why he fought Rios after, it's not "*****-Logic". He needed to build his confidence. Don't be dumb.

so going by your logic (Floyd-Logic), Cotto is undefeated when Floyd fought him :deal

can we safely say Canelo is still undefeated? :hey
