    His defence is his weakness...

He is very talented...but if you get a great boxer he'd deal with him.

That's because there really isn't one.

Solid chin, very good underrated defence, great punching power, underrated skills. He is probably the mat complete fighter currently active.

All we need now is for people to step up and fight the man.

Roy Jones still thinks that he should be fighting so I have some doubts about his judgment.

    Didn't Stevens stun him?

I don't remember the fight but I think his legs buckled

His weakness is he lacks the ability to get the top 160 fighters in the same ring with him, other than that there are none.

you can hardly call him "the most complete fighter currently active" when macklin and stevens are his 'name' opponents (this is why he hasn't shown any weaknesses), but we all agree with the last part :good

Roy Jones failed to detect the weaknesses in Johnson and Tarver also.

As we know by Hopkins example, they exist.

It is a bold statement but I honestly believe it to be true.

Who will have the better resume after their respective fights, Kovalev or Golovkin?

Kovalev: Campillo, White, Cleverly, Sillakh, Agnew, Caparello.

Golovkin: Macklin, Stevens, Adama, Proksa, Geale, Rosado.

Golovkin has a solid resume, not great but it is good. The only problem is he's never met a fighter who can actually test him.

Now as a fan of boxing I'd like to see him clean up at 160 first before moving up. But again that depends if he can get the fighters to fight him.

So far he's made good fighters look bad and sadly currently at 160 we havent got a stand out fighter outside of GGG with the exception of Cotto who I believe isn't a true middleweight.

    :good exactly
golovkin's notoriety is keeping titlists happy with what they have (which, for me, is just another farcical situation in boxing courtesy of the self-indulgent federations), but gun shy to risk it against golovkin.

have to give credit to geale for taking the fight, but he only did it after losing the two belts he won in Germany. he also didn't seem interested in fighting golovkin when he had a belt

    I'd say, They're about even.

    Both need to step up.

That great boxer will also have to be able to handle the pressure and punches Golovkin will be throwing and landing. Sure he's beatable but it won't be easy.
