Bull****, Ward isn't a draw he can't offer 25m to anybody the fight wouldn't generate anything like enough the money to give Calzaghe 25m plus Ward purse, wouldn't be a ppv in either America or the UK Joe has been retired far to long for it to happen or mean anything. Calzaghe is right to never comeback he has done great things in the sport is undefeated been the best at 2 weight classes he is one of the ATG's and a top 5 British fighter ever no need to tarnish that legacy.

Ward would probebly class him as not worthy to fight him anyway , also ward isn't going to move up to 175 for it either

 

as far as I can see Ward can do what he wants, hes earned the right. But he also needs to do something SOON or hes going to lose his transcension of the division.

Just think how much money Calzaghe gave up after the Hopkins fight.
The Hopkins match up could have easily become a trilogy where both would have made tens of millions of dollars.

He's been retired since 2009. Of course he "wants no part of Ward". In the same way that Lennox Lewis wants no part of Stiverne. They're not active fighters anymore and aren't going to come back. That's all there is to it.

And, ha! Nobody would willingly sit through Hopkins/Calzaghe 2, let alone a trilogy. They didn't click as opponents, it was ugly as sin and the first was so dissapointing that it wouldn't sell half as well as a rematch.

 

yes calzaghe was not historically a draw, lets not revise history, the man was virtually unknown outside wales until his last fights when he raised his standards such as the skilless slugger lacey.

But I think some are underestimating how big this fight would be..

Calzaghe is a first ballot hall of famer, him coming out of retirement to fight Ward would be huge.

the only ward calzaghe fights is micky ward, and the it will be life and death split decision getting dropped by a welterweight when joe was still prime/postprime and micky was 43.
