I agree and disagree with you. I'm currently taking hemavol, the pumps are insane and i stay pumped hours after the workout. This keeps me motivated to want to maintain my form and not go off on a drunken bender. The product delivers. However, Alot of supplements do **** all and you're right who's to say if there is anything in them. I took Mutant Test for a month, no impact, I felt better just taking tribilus. Do you consider whey protein a supplement? Because nothing makes my muscles as dense as whey does. Even if I eat two pounds of chicken or salmon my muscles don't react the same. Whey has been proven to be the fastest absorbing. Whatever works though, you're insides are probably are alot better than mine lol
Whey Protein is a supplement. Your body can only make use of so much protein. Eating two pounds of chicken or salmon is more than enough.
You have to be kidding? For the past 5 years i have been a competing weight lifter & a casual bodybuilder. As a user of both legal & illegal supplements over the years, i have had more than enough exposure to results & sides of both ends of the spectrum. Everyone has their own opinion on supplements, whether you believe they work or not is up to you. To say they don't, well that is your opinion. If you try and tell me that a solid multi like Animal PAK, BCAA's/Aminos, renowned Protein based supplements & creatine have no positive effects on the body, i am wasting my time talking to you. Go and ask any natural bodybuilder, see how their diet is planned out. See what stack they run with their diet. I do not know of 1 competing bb'er or powerlifter for that matter that uses food as the only source of nutrition. Yes, there are many companies out there that have products available that do absolutely nothing. That is undeniable. But to group all legal supplements together in one pool and say "they do nothing, other than money gathering" is a crock. Well done on training for the last 15 years. I commend you on giving good advice as far as training is concerned.
My point was eating that much doesn't have the same effect as whey on my muscles. Therefore not all supplements are crap.
Not saying I disagree but the OP does at least have a point. Why the hell hire Conte... who has no education as a nutritionist, in your camp if you weren't taking supplements?? It's suspicious... at least a little.
Yep, young lifters, and some gym rats love GNC supplements. I think they are bit less popular with Olympic weightlifters, and Powerlifters who know how worthless most of it is. Creatine in in tuna, beef, and pork in abundance, and this is a pretty popular one. Most everyone at the gym takes pre-workout supplements. Drinking a cup or 2 of coffee works just fine, and way cheaper. Steak, eggs, and milk work 100 times better than supplements. Every time you feel the need to buy protein powder for $40, buy some eggs, and peanut butter. for $4.25 instead. That powder crap makes you have some serious gas btw. Far worse than eggs. I'm not saying that supplements are totally worthless, but I'll take real food, and my budget thanks me. I do like power bars though. Convenient protein is convenient, and better for you than a snickers.
@kiwi I believe creatine works for those who are not getting enough through diet. Always been skeptical of bcaa's though. Are they not just building blocks of protein? Edit: A little research answered my question. bcaa's look usefull to those lacking protein in their daily diet (as some boxers making weight may be), but not so much to those in a bulking phase who are getting more than enough protein.
You know who: - 3 rumored tests came up positive and were paid off. - Admitted to using lidocaine in his hands to numb the effect of power punches on his brittle hands. - Paid Manny that money when Manny asked him to lay his testing history on the table also. Manny Pacquiao: - Never failed a test - Never been PROVEN to be using any form of PED's. GTFO with accusing other boxers of using PED's while the one you love so dearly is throwing stones, while living in a glass house.
If you eat organic from a local farmer you may not need supplements. Monoculture has reduce the amount of iron and magnesium (for instance) that you find in veggies bought in grocery stores. Which is why you need some supplements.
