Explain how it backfired on me when the averages for Ward's numbers are higher?

Froch/Ward did 1-1.1 million sonny.

But that's what I don't understand. If he was such a name, he wouldn't need an undercard. And I doubt Perez and Mago really helped all that much. No one knows who they are. And the 1.4 average most likely means that it peaked even higher at one point, but that's besides the point. I'm sure that how things are looking right now-theoretically, if they both had a one fight card in the coming months, Golovkin would most likely have more viewers than him. All of this isn't a slate against Ward; I'm not knocking the skills, but Golovkin is the bigger draw.

    Undercards are pivotal to #'s.

This is clear from Mayweather/Pacquiao numbers as well.

If Ward had even a decent fight in his undercard, who knows? :deal

'Dre was their star... and based on resume I still consider him the better fighter.

But now HBO have a fighter who's bringing in better viewership without the absurdly demanding paychecks who's willing to fight 3 or 4 times a year (instead of once... maybe) and virtually guarantees a fan friendly fight.

Let's see how this one pans out.

How does that mean he's a bigger draw?

Overall viewer-ship is the mots important stat.

    We look at averages?

    1.1 Macklin
    675k Proska
    1.4 Stevens
N/A Adama (Not televised on HBO)

    1.1 Froch
    1.3 Dawson
    1.1 Rodriguez

    :hi:

But he's had bigger named fighter's in the ring with him and still didn't average more than Golovkin/Stevens. And I forgot about the UFC fight on Nov 16 so good look on that Overhill. But the fact that Golovkin has had a higher average viewing in 14 months HBO exposure time compared to how long Ward has been televised says a lot.

There's absolutely 0 doubt that Ward is the far greater/better fight.

Ward is just stuck with a garbage promoter who is unable to get him fights, but of course that's on him and it's absolutely his fault as well.

Still, let's not make GGG out to be some kind of big time fighter where he can dictate terms to Ward.

GGG says Ward should stop talking about him and doesn't want to fight him because he isn't a PPV fighter.

    Neither is he?

Because he fought more? Obviously the tide is turning to GGG's favour but it isn't even by much. Overall viewing numbers still favour Ward by a good margin.

He's only had a higher "average" in 14 months because Ward fought ONCE while GGG fought multiple times.

Goossen is unable to get ANY sort of fight for Ward and that is destroying his career.

But that won't be for long.

I suspect a Ward fight will come soon.

Many people have fallen under this delusion that GGG is the bigger draw and I totally understand that

    1. Ward isn't fighting very often now because of promotional disputes
    2. GGG is on the rise while Ward isn't fighting

But when we look at average numbers, Ward is still on top.

Fact is, the Rodriguez fight could have easily done 1.4-1.5 million, but the GSP/Hendricks/Sonnen fight was on. I highly doubt GGG would have pulled 1.4 million stacked against THAT card.

You're missing my point though. Yes he was inactive but look at who he's fought and the numbers associated with it. Ward/Froch 1.1 and Ward/Dawson 1.3. Those are two big names. For Golovkin/Macklin to do the same amount as Ward/Froch is eye catching considering Froch is much more known and a bigger draw. Not very many people knew who Stevens was before that fought but for it to draw 1.4 is good for Golovkin. On a side note, do you know the figures for Golovkin/Rosado?
