I am guessing Ustinov is coming in at around 23 stones, or this is indeed a tougher test than Chisora.

 

Yeah, disappointment followed by excitement..... this could turn out to be more entertaining than fighting chisora.....i see a ko on the horizon, i dont know whos getting Ko'd like but someone definitely is.

If Fury blasts this guy out in under 5 rounds then take a bow son cos that would be very impressive and then folk would be forced to sit up and take him as a serious contender!!

 

I am surprised an easybeat wasn't chosen. Big fight if Ustinov is fit.

Think Boxnation should be more credible in this one, Boxrec pretty often has the # of rounds wrong.

Yeh ive noticed that, though didnt chisora have a 12 rounder changed during the walking to a 10 rounder within the last 12 months or was that another boxer, possibly on Sky

 

Thats what I thought, then Boxrec go with the 12 round story late last night and the bookies go up with 12 round betting this morning, it just ****s everything up because if its reduced to 10 not only can it change the complexion of the fight but in theory the round by round betting will be void as well. Not all of them void it but when you want to back 9,10.11 like me its reasonably important.

They all do it Joshua/Legg was announced at the weigh in as 8 rounds and then they changed it to 6 on the morning of the fight, its a big enough fight Fury/Ustinov to get the sodding thing right.

Dont have twitter or might try that route for Fury or boxnation so guess I will wait until someone has something concrete

 

The duration of the fight should have been announced at the same time as the opponent. Just plain amateurish there is any lingering doubt.

 

Nope. Chisora vs. Scott was his only 10-rounder in the last year and it was announced for 10 in the first place, several months before it happened. There was never any change.

You might be thinking of:

Alex Leapai vs. Denis Boytsov, a world title eliminator that was inexplicably altered to be a 10-rounder.

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. vs. Bryan Vera I, changed from 12 to 10 the week of the fight amid Chavez's troubles making weight.

Sonny Bill Williams vs. Francois Botha, with the distance changed partway into the match while Botha was putting it on the kid. Blatant, shocking corruption down under.

It would have made absolutely no sense for it to be 12. Neither Fury nor Ustinov has any sort of belt and this won't be an eliminator. It therefore can't be twelve.

simply because surely Fury would have been sparring shorter, come in low type men and his work in the gym would have been designed for Chisora.

Fair play to Fury and Ustinov if this happens, dangerous fight for both on such short notice.

Still it sounds as if its 10 it should be 10 with nothing at stake, Alex will be puffing after 3 or 4 probably I think, then a case of can Fury finish him, I think he can around 8.
