Well, well. Floyd Mayweather has applied and received his Vegas Promotional license. That means that GBP will not only lose their partnership with MP and rights to promote MP events, but they will very likely lose many of the top boxers who are currently being promoted by GBP by in contractual limbo. This means there is a strong chance that MP may be as large or larger than GBP within the next two years. At this point the only asset GBP has generating revenues are Canelo and Hopkins who is responsible for creating and promotion of all east coast fights. However, I have to wonder if Hopkins will stay with GBP or will he leverage his 10 year experience as a VP with GBP to get a better deal elsewhere.
