Kid Diamond was very good during his somewhat brief prime. (2004 into half of 2007) When did he spar Mayweather? If during that period then I can easily believe it.
...and that, it should be noted, is just his peak years in the pros. He was thirty by the beginning of his decline, against Huerta. He enjoyed long success in the amateurs before that. Not all that hard to imagine him giving Mayweather a hard time.
