To be fair though. Floyd was also I think 33, and he wasnt' close to ending the fight. Getting rocked, and still not going down isn't ending the fight. Close to ending the fight would be something like Maidana-Khan, who was on his last leg after Chino hit him in the 10th.

Mosley had a great second round, and then was outclassed through the remainder of the fight.

I like the viper but he would just be another W for Floyd. Vernon is just another boogieman in the long list that could beat Floyd. It's only a testimony to his greatness that we have to go back in time to think of someone who matches up well against him.

People honestly believe Floyd would beat Duran when Maidana beat him in the last fight?

    Maidana WON that fight.

    But Mayweather would beat Duran?

    Really?

    Mayweather doesn't have Leonard's footwork.

Mayweather couldn't even get away from Hatton. He used his skills and size to beat Hatton, but do you think he could get away with that tactic against "Hands of Stone?"

    Get the XXXX outta here.

    That's ridiculous.

Mayweather vs. Forrest is a dream match-up but there was never a time it could have reasonably happened. By the debut of Mayweather at 147 in late 2005, Forrest had already returned from his two-year layoff and was two fights deep in his 154lb comeback.

Back when Forrest last stepped into the ring a welterweight, Mayweather was a lightweight.

I suppose if the money had been there it could've made sense in late 2007 for Mayweather to move up and challenge Forrest at 154lb instead of them fighting Hatton & Piccirillo respectively. It would've been an easy sell with it being so high-risk and high-reward for Mayweather, and with Forrest having built up some momentum beating Quartey and then Baldomir for the green belt just eight months after Mayweather had beaten him for the green belt a division lower, adding some performance comparison intrigue that would've helped sell this. If both were under the guidance of Al Haymon at this point he missed the boat on making everybody involved a lot of money - although it probably still was more lucrative (and certainly lower-risk) for Mayweather to stay down at welter and beat the very popular and profitable Hatton. Then of course it ceased to be possible altogether in June 2008 when a) Forrest took Mora too lightly and b) Mayweather retired.

During that eleven month period, though - it was a possibility. :think

Height, reach, killer jab, great body puncher and high volume of punches. Pre shoulder injury Forrest was a machine.

Floyd could barely get past a washed up ODLH, prime Oscar kicks his ass. Mosley too.
