... really? So if noone else wants to put up the money, his promoter is going to put up the 2mil for Ward to fight plus purse money to buy a contract of services from K2 for GGG?

How is this exactly supposed to work? How would the promoter ever make that back?

Ward depends entirely on one revenue stream for his pay, that is the US premium cable network. Goossen has sent Ward offers that Ward declined because he called them laughably low. But if HBO isnt footing the bill, there is only the live gate otherwise Goossen loses money.

Now Goossen is going to lose money/make big investment in the career of a fighter that is suing them why?

Please explain exactly where the money to put on a promotion comes from. Because apparently you know of some great pool of revenue that can make big fights without a ticket buying fanbase or television underwriter.

that is the only realistic time they could have fought. froch made no secret of thinking groves was below him, if he had the chance of rematching ward on his comeback in england or vegas, i reckon he would have had your arm off. if you believe ward, who wanted an even softer touch than rodriguez but was turned down by hbo, considered as tough a comeback opponent as froch, i recommend you lay off the potcheen.

in fact i'm prepared to make a wager, i ban bet you ward's camp made no contact with matchroom over his comeback fight.

Because making no money is still better financially than taking a loss, which is exactly what happens if Goosen stages an Andre Ward fight without HBO funding.

Ward can neither draw enough at the live gate or sell enough PPV's to afford his own purse demands, a decent opponent, and a profit for Goosen.

    +1.

Unless Ward makes concessions (financial or otherwise) on what he'll take to fight, he's going to remain on the sidelines.

The entire reasoning he's bargaining so hard for GGG now is that the longer time goes on, the weaker his bargaining position against GGG becomes.

Andre Ward taking Boxing career advice from Golovkin is like Al Haymon taking investment advice from Bernie Madoff.

I have no problem with him not wanting to move up a division. None whatsoever.

However, since he has claimed for the last couple years that he would fight anyone from 154-168, it is more than odd and revealing for him to change his tune now.

LOL. I advised you to make a financial bet, but you didn't believe me.
Or more importantly, you didn't believe in your fighter. :yep

Yep. Most of these guys are too young or too ignorant to understand the business basics of boxing (or any business for that matter).
