Decent post overall, but a few points.

Genaro Hernandez was not champion because of a weak era. He beat some decent names like Oroszco, Londas, Raul Perez (not a Perez at his best, but still solid) Paez and an admittedly ancient Nelson. He only ever lost to Oscar and Mayweather. He had Solid credentials.
Also, Mayweather pretty much dominated Hernandez. I thought it was an impressive, mature performance for a young fighter.

Corrales may have not been true elite, but he was a very respectable fighter and was dominated in a one-sided match. He never stood a chance.

To be fair, all the names mentioned are very respectable. Not true elite (some were, but not at the time Floyd fought them) but solid names. I agree that Oscar and Shane were well past their best, but they were still good names and good fighters.
I don't know if one can classify Cotto as 'past prime' because of one loss, even if it was a pretty harsh beating at the hands of Margarito.

In all honesty, only a handful of fighters fought other elites at the height of their abilities. It's all too rare, and has been so since forever.

I have no idea where I'd rank Mayweather P4P in history, but I think he deserves a place somewhere. Pacquiao too.

Anybody can simply "****" all over someone's competition, but properly judging a man's win list goes a bit further than saying " that guy never beat an elite fighter." And finding quotes of fighters who claim that they can beat a certain individual if they were fighting in " their time" is about as easy as finding snow in winter. I wonder which " number " of guys Norris was referring to that he felt could have beaten Floyd in the junior middleweight division of the 90's.. Vinnie Pazienza? Gilbert Dele? Dana Rosenblatt? Washed versions of Leonard, Curry and Dreyton? Luis Santana?

They will treat him the same as they now treat RJJ. Mayweather will be forgotten. When you spend your entire career fighting toilet bowl cleaners and boxers way past there prime anyone could go 50 and 0. He'll be remembered for the ***** that he is...period!

    :good

Also, leaving aside Norris, the rest of those critical of his era compared with theirs are some of the greatest history and the Four Kings era is going to prove hard to stack up against for any other in history.

Plus, the idiot fails to realize the Leonard quote is actually complimentary of Mayweather every bit as much as it may be critical of his available (or selected) opposition.

As for the breakdown of thirteen random opponents (are those supposed to be Mayweather's best? In any vague order? :huh) - palpably and ridiculously biased - as you say, to such an unfair degree that just about every fighter in history could be shredded if subjected to similarly harsh judgment.

All of a sudden prime unbeaten Chico is no longer a good win, because this clown wrote a few sentences diminishing him. :patsch

Heading into their meeting, Chico hadn't fought an "elite" but then how many boxers have? Where is this pool of active prime "elites" in every division any given moment from which a harshly criticized fighter is supposed to have drawn? Elites grow on trees, apparently. Of course we know in the real world, boxers most often establish and distinguish themselves and enter into the conversation as perhaps themselves being elite in the first place not by taking on and defeating a bunch of ready-made elites just lying around waiting for them, but rather by taking on and defeating a steady enough supply of solid, good to very good opponents. Before he fought Mayweather in what back then (regardless of revisionist glances over the shoulder) was very much considered a summit of young unbeaten elites, Chico had gone 5-0 (4) running through a string of solid world class opposition, and I'd place Garcia at least in the "very good" category. After the loss to Mayweather, he went on to stop Freitas and Castillo, both excellent wins.

Acting like someone like Chico never amounted to anything just to **** on Mayweather's resume is agenda-driven trolling at its most obvious and pathetic.

The rest of the post is just riddled with stupidity. Marquez and Cotto the only creditable victories? :rofl I love JMM but that is among the least creditable victories in the last decade of Mayweather's career, down there with Ortiz. The whooping of Sharmba Mitchell ranks above it. To praise that one but then cut to ribbons victories like Hernandez, Alvarez, Hatton, Maidana, and DLH is just laughable.

I agree.. It was a trolling post and one that makes lazy generalizations about what is otherwise a VERY good resume and list of scalps.

Green Man now joins redrooster, Brixton Bomber, JLP6 and fists of fury in the "outed as unreliably biased Mayweather haters club" for co-signing IKE's atrocious fallacy-laden rambling.

Now the race is on to see which of you labels me (inaccurately, as I've only rooted for the guy twice in the last ten years, against Ortiz and Judah) a "*****".

I don't hate Floyd. In fact, the contrary is true. I just had a hard time refuting his argument so I exited the debate

    Idiot, more like.

Mayweather has TREMENDOUS skills. Sublime, in fact. But he lacks the will to challenge himself (or balls to be precise).

It's always catch-weights, stipulations etc. If YOU are going to challenge for the 154 belt, do it properly.

He is amazingly talented, but he is a better businessman than he is a boxer.

If it is hate make sure you add Leonard, Hagler, Steward, Norris, Duran, and Hopkins. I am cool with being in that company.

Haters club? Why on earth do you think I hate Mayweather? Granted, I don't think much of the person, but the fighter is terrific.
I think most of my last post was actually sticking up for him more than anything.
    Sheesh.

A legend? Maybe for the business side of boxing. But not the actual boxing.

Let's look at the so called "great" career of the overrated Pacquiao. This farce can't clearly beat Marquez, and he is supposed to be one of the greats?

And I don't care if any of these opponents were champions or hall of famers. That means nothing. There are more than 68 belts available today in 17 weight classes (compared to only 8 belts in 8 classes in the days of Ray Robinnson/Armstrong/Louis/Pep etc) so any bum like Algieri and can pick up a belt and call themselves "world champion". Belts and multi-division titles are WORTHLESS today. Pacquiao has won some of his "8" division titles without ever beating a champion at the weight.

    1) Rustico Torrecampo - Pacquiao's first loss as a professional, Manny gets knocked cold by a 15-8-6 fighter with 0 elite wins besides pacquiao himself.

    2) Megdoen Singsurat - Pacquiao's second loss as a professional. Pacquiao gets stopped with a single body blow.

    3) Emmanuel Lucero - Zero wins over elite boxers.

    4) David Diaz - Zero wins over elite competition, with only notable name on resume being a 2007 Erik Morales. :think

    5) Marquez - Pacquiao ends up with a draw, two highly controversial decisions, and one devestating KO loss.

    6) Oscar De La Hoya - Pacquiao gets zero credit for this win. Drains De La Hoya so bad Manny actually ends up outweighing him :patsch Oscar is completely shot at this point and retires after this bout.

    7) Ricky Hatton - best wins are Kosta Tzyu (did nothing outside of beat Zab Judah), a shot Castillo, and garbage Malignaggi. Quoted as saying he was never the same fighter after losing to Floyd Mayweather 2 years prior to the Pacquiao bout.

    8) Shane Mosley - 40 years old, washed up. He went 1-3-1 after the Mayweather fight, proving how past his prime he was. Vernon and Winky masterfully defeated better versions of Mosley, so Pacquiao gets zero credit for this win.

    9) Miguel Cotto - past his prime after his loss to Antonio Margarito, but a good win nonetheless. His victory over Martinez does not hide Cotto’s regression, since Martinez had regressed even more. Two credible wins in 18 years is far from great. Made Cotto fight at 145 instead of 147.

    10) Antonio Margarito - Another one of Manny's "championships", fighting Margacheato at 150 pounds for a light middleweight title. Margarito only 2 fights removed from the TKO loss suffered at the hands of Shane Mosley.

    11) Brandon Rios - A tune up fight after the robbery against 140 lb Bradley and KO loss to Marquez, Manny fights another light welterweight at 147 coming off a loss to Mike Alvarado. Zero real wins against top let alone elite competition.

    11) Chris Algieri - Following his revenge against pfp Bradley, Pacquiao will take on yet another light welterweight with the only notable win in his career being a highly contested decision over ESPN fighter Ruslan Provodnikov, another light welterweight, where he was dropped twice in the fight.

    1) "He has beaten some good names who are past their prime."
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVnbCK_Q6zo

    2) "The first negotiations were kind of our fault." - Freddie Roach
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUs8yAS_qTs

    3) "Pacquiao makes many mistakes. He would fall into Mayweather's hands, easy." Oscar de La Hoya https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZIoCTMiO2A

    4) "Floyd would outbox Manny." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3V3PjI1ySA

    5) "Manny would lose to floyd in a technical fight." - Emmanuel Steward

The real problem Mayweather faces, historically speaking, is that he's endangered his legacy with bluster and an unwillingness to give that TBE mantra a good old acid test. What he has achieved will be debated.

Fans will not let their qualms die, rightfully so, and Floyd's legacy will suffer some kidneys blows as a result.

50-0, who cares. He didn't fight Pacquiao (and Pacquiao didn't fight him). I think that'll be held against both of them (rightfully so), when it's all said and done.

:yepFloyd took all the competition ethos out of the sport, he's done well for himself $$$$ wise & I respect his business acumen, he's sold himself well, bread & circuses for the masses, he's the ultimate TV champion of this modern era, he'd make Joseph Goebbels proud 'Quote' .....

"The most brilliant propagandist technique will yield no success unless one fundamental principle is borne in mind constantly - it must confine itself to a few points and repeat them over and over.” (Joseph Goebbels)

Floyd's got away with it, but even now he wants his bread buttered both sides, he's now squeaking about his 'LEGACY'....well legacy went out the window when Pac was a clear & present danger, in Floyd's own words, Quote:

    I Don't fight for legacy!
I Don't fight for none of that!
    I fight for that cheque!
I'm in the cheque cashing business!

He'll become a Q&A statistic, get his name mentioned in new quiz board games, but he'll never be remembered as a titan of the ring! I doubt they'll be anymore Titan's of the ring, not the way the game is now structured with the Cable Giants agenda for mass consumption. Floyd is a very good boxer, but he's not a great one, to be honest, he's just a fcukin fraud & he laughs at you all, he can not believe the gullibility of the masses, history will always repeat itself, just ask Sugar Ray Leonard, he started all this in the 80's.

The 70's ROLLERBALL movie view of the future is now with us.
