Fairly difficult to predict due to the limited knowledge about these guys. I've only seen Jennings against Szpilka, and he fought fairly well despite losing some rounds. He is good at utilizing his range advantage if the opponent is at distance, but he doesn't really keep the distance that well, allowing the opponent to often get within the range to land punches. He often doesn't position himself very well and Szpilka benefited from that. As for Perez, he is skilled, but doesn't have much of a great defense, which is the main problem for him going into the fight against Jennings. He isn't that fast and will be significantly slower than Jennings. Against Mago he took a lot of big punches, not to mention the Takam fight. If Jennings fought clever, I believe he could definitely win either by a decision or maybe even a stoppage, depending on Perez being tired late or not. Of course, I can see Perez utilizing on Jennings' mistakes and winning on points or stopping him. Pretty unpredictable fight I'd say, but if I had to pick the name, I'd say Jennings.
Perez! He's back training where he's close to his family which was a bit of an issue before,of coarse the Mago fight affected him but it may prove to be a smart move getting in the ring with Takam so early...if he had dwelled on it and blamed himself it could have finished him,I thimk he showed great mental strength in that fight and was capable of the full 12 rounds too against an under-rated Takam. Its been a few months now and Maga is improving all the time which is another bonus so Mike should have no excuses this time out....C'on Perez.
I rate perezs talent and skill higher but i think Jennings will take a close, maybe even controversial, decision.
Nevermind its hard to pick against perez in this. But a Jennings workmanlike decision wouldn't surprise me. But final pick is perez by ud. He 'should' be a level above. Awesome heavyweight matchup
Perez beat Mago in a close fight when Jennings, Mago, Perez and Szplika were all right about the same level. Jennings destroyed Szplika and has a tough win over Fedosov who is seriously underrated. Fedosov was turned away from the Super 8 tournament in OZ......he woulda walked thru everyone in that group and come out with 3 very nice names and had himself placed firmly in the top 20.:good
Didn't Jennings start boxing just a few years ago? If so, that has to be a huge factor in this fight.
Szpilka is one of the biggest, glass jawed bums in boxing history. Mago destroyed McCline with a jab in round 2, Szpilka went through life and death with McCline, left the ring with a broken jaw and almost lost it .. Perez fought really good boxers compared to Jennings.
Jennings is in better shape. Perez looks soft and chubby. He's take the later rounds and maybe even win by late KO/TKO.
who did Perez beat as good as Fedosov???? The only fighter he fought as good as Fedo was Takam, and he rightly lost that fight. Not saying Jennings was beating Fedo himself, but he did land that UC/L hook that busted up Andrej's eye and caused the stoppage, and he fought him even up to that point.:think
Yeah, no way Perez gets a robbery draw here. If anyone is gonna steal the close rds in the judges eyes it will be Jennings, and haterz may call it a robbery.:good
