Its too late for strategy. Fury has to wing it. Adapt round by round.

I like Wilder and Prce but they wouldn't take this fight on a 3 month training camp , never mind 3 days notice:rofl

If Fury wins and it's a big if, does he have the best heavyweight resume of a non Klitschko title challenger out there? You could argue he does, Ustinov, Chisora, Cunningham, Johnson. Not bad.

Not as good as Povetkins, whether he beats Ustinov or not

Long in the tooth and badly faded, but Chagev has a better heavyweight record as well

Excellent news that Ustinov is in shape. It's not suprising as he was slated to face Ortiz although the fight never materialized. I wonder who Ortiz will be matched up with now. I won't be surprised if Ortiz now faces Povetkin or Haye as an eliminator to fight Chagaev. Or possibly Wilder if the Stiverne fight falls through.

Looking forward to the scrap! Ustinov might be too tough for Fury, but I figure Fury can win this on points if he stays disciplined. So I don't see Fury going for the KO unless he's supremely confident.

Fury relies way too much on his size advantage to get him through his fights. I think he'll find it hard to bully and impose himself on somebody like Ustinov. I think the circus act would end tomorrow, with Tyson being put to sleep. Pulev is a top fighter. No shame losing to him.

But Povetkin and Chagaev fought Klitschko. I meant of fighters that have not fought Wlad yet does Fury if he wins have the best resume?

Who was Ustinov supposed to be fighting?

With a kickboxing background I always want to cheer on the kickboxer (and they usually win!), but in this case, two very large men, late replacement, who knows.

If Ustinov wins then Pulev instantly gets a resume boost in the west.

How much does Fury's style depend upon him being the larger man?

That advantage won't be there for this fight.

Considering Ustinov's kickboxing career, his fight with Pulev and sparring with Wach and Klitschko, brawling with the abdominable snowman is nothing new for him.

Ustinov can be slower than Fury, if Ustinov's timing is better.

For the gambler types this could be a good time to bet on the underdog.

Ustinov looks great shape, perhaps the best of his boxing career and has also been sparring so will be sharp and ready.

I've seen Ustinov fight a number of times and have always been surprised how good his footwork is for a 300lb 6ft 8in Heavyweight although he can come across as a poor mans Klitschko in his boxing style which is probably closer to Vitali then Wlad in that he leans back from punches. He has above average power and speed but has lacked stamina and output in the past, losing those 25lbs since the Pulev fight will definately help him in those departments.

Ustinov has nearly always had the problem of punching down against his opponehts which can be a disadvantage especially against faster Heavyweights so i'm sure he'll feel a lot more comfortable facing someone the same height as him.

The biggest factor in the fight for me is that Fury always uses his height and weight to lean on his opponents and drain them of stamina, if he tries doing that to Ustinov he'll be in a world of trouble.

    My prediction.

    USTINOV by KO inside 4.

The reason i'm going for Ustinov is the best style to beat him is a more orthodox stance that counter punchers off his rather looping punches, something that Pulev did brilliantly and Fury just doesn't have the technique to carry out.
