Good point. HBO will not be happy if Ward goes to Showtime. They've invested a lot of money in him. He got $2 million for his fight with Rodriguez and I'm sure he's getting a nice pay cheque as a commentator.

Ironic, considering that's the same thing Showtime was saying when HBO stole him from them post Super 6 tourney.

Maybe because everyone that was proposed to him was a stiff?

True, it all evens out in the end. Both networks end up wasting up their money.

HAhaha LOL at Ward not being "approved" to fight GGG.

Hbo has done everything imaginable to promote this guy to the public…including giving him a steady paycheck by calling the fights now that he can't fight.

HBO would approve this **** in a heartbeat. Ward don't want none and hides behind his legal issues.

Of course I'd rather see wars against Froch and Chavez first…or even a cotto or canelo fight. Those are more entertaining…but ill watch him knockout Ward.

I consider ward completely irrelevent right now. He's locked up in a dispute with his promoter. So don't use that bs here.

Clearly HBO offers free Soup Can passes to their Russian fighters.

I also can't see Kovalev turning anyone down either.

It's not surprising to me that HBO execs say this about GGG, what is a bit surprising is that they've pretty much threw ALL of their other fighters under the bus! It'll be interesting how this will be spun on ESB.

You still don't seem to get it.
I already told you what Lara would have to do to get the fight he supposedly wants.
Tom Loeffler said basically the same thing. Lara was not even on their radar.
Mark my words, Lara will not do what is necessary to get this fight that he called for on twitter.
Floyd is the biggest payday in boxing for anyone who can make the weight for a fight with him.
Everyone wants the biggest fight in boxing. Floyd would not even fight Canelo @154, he is not going to fight GGG at 154 ever.
When is Andre Ward's next fight? No one seems to know the answer to that.

Every day it is the same dumb **** on here:-(

Ward not approved by Hershman?

“I would love to see him fight Chavez,” Hershman said. “I’d love to see him fight [Andre] Ward. I’d love to see him go down in weight and fight Canelo [Alvarez], fight Cotto, fight anybody. I think Gennady is one of those fighters where it doesn’t matter who’s on the other side of the ring- people are going to tune in. They’ll dissect the quality of the opponent but at the end of the day they’ll tune in to watch this guy, just like they tune in to watch Mike Tyson and other fighters that knock people out. It’s a sight to behold.”

Damn I wonder who Pacquiao, Cotto, Froch and other fighters have turned down
