I honestly think this is a 51-49 fight for Ward. And that 1 is only for it being at SMW. At a catch weight Golovkin wins.

It'd be closer than I thought before. Ward is leagues above these middleweights Golovkin has been fighting. He'd be able to eat Golovkin's punches better and land harder, cleaner shots on Golovkin. They'd both have their moments but I'd take Ward 116-112. Ward would beat Golovkin on the inside, and he'd be able to do something many others haven't, force Golovkin backwards. Ward has power too, at 168, Golovkin's power might be negated just a tad.

Ward would beat the breaks off him. Golovkin is easy to hit.

GGG has poor defence and Ward is physically stronger than him. Ward schooling EZ.

    A solemn analysis.

I've always thought that Golovkin being underrated and Ward being mildy overrated would make this fight close.

Below 175 no one is beating Ward/Golovkin but each other.

Easier than I thought. And his punches aren't as fast as I thought, but when they land. They land well, and hard. From what I saw tonight, he's not too good off the backfoot, and he's there to be hit if someone has the power to hurt him. Top Dog and real deal at 160 though.

Ward was already down in his career. GGG would knock him out within 4 rounds.

I disagree. Maybe for Ward he'd be relatively easy to hit. But his defense tonight looked solid tonight.

Yea, someone with power that can back him up will give him trouble. I noticed he's poor backing up when he fought Stevens.

    Golovkin by forfeit.

    ...five months in advance.

    ...after numerous postponements and cancellations.

I thought he was spotty defensively, but makes up for that with his punching power. Even with the KO punch, he got hit flush first, before he landed. Had that been someone with power, we could be having a different convo.

    Watch the Froch-Ward fight.

Nobody's made Froch look like a club fighter.

This. I don't think he would've went down, but it would've taken some steam off of his KO punch and the fight would've went longer.
