Ward would be far too much for GGG, Ward's infighting alone would be overwhelming

Discuss. Easily the best infighter in the sport. That alone would make GGG clueless and not get off power punches

Ward needs to get himself some fights before he thinks about fighting GGG ward is retired.......he also needs to make a name for himself

ggg is on is way to superstardom:deal

  3. Ward will never, ever, in a million years, become a PPV star if he keeps fighting like that. Period.

He’s dominated Froch, Kessler, Dawson, Abraham and others. Some are very popular, like Froch, most are very good, the best his division has to offer, and even the next one, like Dawson. He dominated them to the point that basically no one can find any fighter that would be favourite against Ward south of heavyweight. He’s #2 p4p in most people’s lists and 1# in some. And yet, he is not a big PPV star.

What makes him think performing the same against a middleweight in GGG will change people’s opinions on him? People’s opinions on him and his lack of popularity among the fans have nothing to do with his competition. He’s fought the best competition that there is. He’s probably the champion that has fought the best rivals. He’s not going to change anything from a PPV or popularity perspective by beating any of those dudes. What would that achieve in that sense? The opposite, I think. His haters will see some of their favourite fighters (or their last hopes to beat Andre) get roughed non-stop in clinches, tagged by blazing jabs, hit flush by hooks in the middle or at the end of clinches, and not be able to connect anything on Ward because he’s either 3 meters away or hugging them for a full minute. And that’s without even talking about the low blows, headbutts, elbows, etc…

So, if he takes such fights because he wants to be even a greater champion and prove he’s got no rivals, then fine. But if he expects to get even a bit more popular, he better forget about it. His fans are already sold on him, and his haters would only hate him more once he dominates GGG

Ward doesn't fight enough, that's why he isn't a big name. If he was fighting 3 times a year he would have more name recognition. I think he would beat GGG easily. Golovkin has no defence, average hand speed and is not slick or very fast fighter. Ward would give the kind of beating that Hopkins gave Trinidad

That's what GGG is right now, another overhyped power puncher like Trinidad.

Ward will always be the favorite against GGG. That's not a surprised to anyone. He's bigger, longer, faster and has a good skillset. I would pick Ward over GGG without hesitation.

Oh the other hand, I take Kovalev to knock out Andre Ward. He's bigger, stronger and can fight at any range.

Andre would beat GGG very convincingly. Beating him everywhere pretty much.

Being either way too close or way too far away. GGG's lackluster defense would be his downfall, he would take way too many shots.

Sounds like you don't care if GGG doesn't fight the elite if they aren't a big enough name.:think

Isn't that what you criticised Floyd for being all about money?

Think GGG vs Ward would be a great fight, Wards skills and natural size advantage would probably make him the favourite but GGG would gave him a good fight and it would be a nice technical fight.

If it wasn't because Ward is better than Froch and Chavez I doubt you would be saying this.

Ward by UD, I think Ward is simply too good for GGG. A GGG win by KO is always possible though.

    Yo MVC
Ward doesn't need to use that tactic on a nobody like GGG.
He did that with Froch and Kessler because Froch is strong and is not used to being manhundled and Kessler like many Euros don't know what to do against an insider.
With GGG, Ward can just stand on the outside and hit him with jabs and straight right hands all night long. Ward is too fast for GGG to do anything back. He can't out jab Ward and he can't beat him to the punch or walk thru Ward's punches like he did with that bum Geale.

Amazes Me Ward does not Fight at all and has got all the so called Fans saying how Great He is.....If Ward is stupid enough to fight a very active and extremely dangerous Golovkin when He has not fought for almost 9 months it will not end good for Him end of story.!!!!

Wards infighting, is very good, as long as there is a ref that allows as much holding, elbows and head use. Ward being up close prevents fighters who require leverage to land big shots the ability to land them. Often fighters that do rely on known big shots seem to neglect infighting.
I have not seen Golovkin infighting with anyone to have a clear opinion, but I would say with Ward being a big SMW and Golovkin being an average size MW, it should favour Ward as he would be the bigger man.

If there was a ref that didnt allow the holding etc, would Ward be clueless? It would be interesting to see if Ward changes him game plan, as the one he uses is effective, as Ward seems a strong fighter.

I guess we wont know either way as they are in different weight divisions and neither seem to want to budge from that, understandably

******s like you said the exact same and worse about Mayweather back then. What Ward is missing is a top notch promoter and proper management. Once he gets that sorted, if ever, he will become a PPV star a major attraction that will even attract idiots like you to buy his PPVs and tune in.
