i rate louis as the second best hw ever. but i think tokyo dougla smashes him. that movement,jab,combinations,countering...just a nightmare for joe. also buster is taller 2 inches and longer almost 8 inches.heavier 20-30 pounds.
Louis by knockout. Some awkward moments for Joe perhaps, but at a point in the fight Louis gets to James and combos Douglas to defeat. Louis was a lot better than Tokyo Tyson in many ways.
Louis one of the greatest heavyweights of all time destroys the journeyman Douglas in less than 5 rounds.
Are we talking about Bronx Louis A, Chicago Louis, Detroit Louis or Bronx Louis B or Bronx Louis C? Because, really, there are so many different Louises, as noted by the extradimensional geolocation physics matrix clause of pugilistic singularities and quantum dynamic realities. Meanwhile, some would argue, if not fervently so, that Tokyo Douglas was a microcosm, doubling for a macrocosm and existing in a vacuum. A Dyson, in fact.
Louis wins by stoppage. But a motivated and well trained Buster Douglas could give him a good night's work.
Even if Douglas was laying a beating on Louis like he did on Tyson up until the 9th round...and then Louis like Tyson dropped Douglas. That is were there difference would be. If Douglas got up, he would not be able to rally. Louis, the ultimate finisher would promptly drop him again and stop. If this was prime Louis from the Schmeling bout, Douglas would have to fight a completely different fight than he did against sluggish Tyson. Louis was be stalking patiently looking to land something quick and hard and follow up with more combinations at lighting speed than Buster had ever seen. Personally, I do not see Douglas being able to withstand one prolonged exchange with Louis without being wobbled. As soon as he is wobbled, I see him getting stopped in that moment.
Louis by early round stoppage, Douglas was a bum and would fit nicely in Louis' "bum of the month" club. "Tokyo Douglas" was just a myth invented by Tyson fans in order to explain why Tyson got his ass whooped by a bum.
Yup, the same bum who got stopped by Tucker before and the same one that got starched by Holyfield with one counter right hook after. "Tokyo Douglas" is just a myth to be used as an excuse by embarassed Tyson fans. The consummate professional Louis would make quick work of Douglas.
Exactly Tokyo Douglas has got to be the biggest myth in boxing history, the man was a journeyman who happened to destroy one of the most overhyped boxers in the sport.
