What excuses do the Golovkin naysayers have left?

So why do you guys keep using this in your argument. You guys can say "no one at 160 can beat GGG, he's the king of 160" and he is. No debate on that. So if theres no competition there, then move up. You guys want keep seeing him fight overmatched competition for the remainder of his best years? Only to see him finally step up at age 36, and then lose to a lesser fighter he wouldn't have lost to in his prime? That's what's going to happen.

 

But there is competition. He can still unify 3 belts, which is what he wants to do. He has the right to do that. Anyone saying he should just go to 168 are simply saying that because they want him to lose. Mainly guys like you, Jacory and SweetSciRetard.

When GGG unifies, then he can go up. He's gonna fight Soliman first, then chase Quillin or Cotto down next year, although I suspect Cotto won't fight him. So maybe he unifies 3 of the 4 titles and moves up.

 

Martinez is done and Cotto isn't going to fight GGG he's already a small MW he moved up only for Martinez. With that said GGG is the uncrowned king at 160 and anyone with a ounce of credibility already knows this.

 

I considered Golovkin the best at 160 after Cotto beat Martinez. And Golovkin hasn't fought bums, but he hasn't fought elite fighters either. With that said, he beats these guys like an elite fighter would.

 

He has dominated it. There's no one left. Cotto isn't fighting him and Martinez is done. Quillen will duck him. Who's left Soliman???:rofl A 40 year old guy with a dozen loses??? Come on man GGG has already proven his point at 160 there's nothing left to do other than to move up. I guess you'd rather see GGG fight Soliman than Froch Kessler or Ward. Log off man.

I want him to lose because I want him to go up? No, I want him to go up because he has a chance to be a special fighters. Wins over the dogs at 168 will age far better than some weak ass MW reign. Hes not going to have the chance to unify. They aren't going to fight him, and then when it doesn't happen you'll say "He never became great because no one wanted to fight him", he should move up. I've acknowledged that GGG is the real deal. Now it's time to see just how real he is. Let's be realistic. Cotto is not fighting him, nor is he mandated to. Because someone says "Fight GGG or vacate" doesn't mean that's actually what's going to happen. He could not fight GGG, and nothing would happen, he wouldn't have to vacate. GGG is no mandatory, and Roach ain't letting that happen. The other champions are passed their past and won't fight him. Quillin is on SHO and he won't get to fight him either. Be realistic. 168 is easily the best move for his career and for his legacy , and for boxing. He goes to 168 and he'll have a chance to clean that out , and take on bigger names that will help become a bigger star. Wins over Froch, Chavez Jr, Ward, Bika, Kessler etc. will build his profile far better than wins over anyone at 160 who's willing to fight him. Stop being so soft. Nobody gives a damn about him losing. He has a chance to be great, but his fans, and his trainer are going to prevent that. :bart

We all know he will move up when he wants to, and he will. There is prestige and money there but he has work at 160 to still do.

He will fight Soliman, then Quillin if Quillin has the BALLS. Cotto apparently has a December date with Chavez Jr, then most likely Canelo in May. So I think the Cotto fight will never happen at this point.

 

You're so busy trying to insult me that you're not reading. He's NOT GOING TO HAVE THE CHANCE TO UNIFY. What don't you understand? It's NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. They aren't mandated to fight him, and they won't fight him. He's not a big enough draw to draw in fighters like that.

Cotto? NOPE
Qullin? NOPE
Soliman? MAYBE, but I doubt it.

Jermain Taylor became unified MW champion by dethroning the real great, Bernard Hopkins.
Unifying against B level champions like Soliman, Cotto, Quillin isn't really such as spectacular achievement.
In fact, it simply mirrors Vlad's domination of a B level dominated HW division.

Golovkin is the equivalent of cheap and mentally destructive Russian krokodil.

 

They don't want him to be at a disadvantage, but if he goes to 168, he's probably still the best puncher in the division. No life at 160 for him. 168 is the answer.
