Jones took John Ruiz's best punches, does GGG hit harder?

As much as I like GGG, James Toney and Bernard Hopkins were not just better, but TEN MILES better than anyone he's fought. Frank Tate, Reggie Johnson, Montel Griffith and Jorge Castro were better than Geale or Curtis Stevens.

Yes, the current Roy has one of the worst chins in the sport..

But, prime Roy? Not even close to one of the worst chins in boxing history.

GGG has a huge chin. Roy will find it but not conquer it
Gennady will find Roy's chin and hit him harder than the
    Tarver left hook
Never been a fan of Roy's with his china chin.

Did you seriously just type this?:rofl:patsch First of all Jones didn't take any punches the best punch he took landed mostly on his chest. Second, do you know how long it had been since Ruiz had a KO when he faced Jones? I can guarantee you Jones and Merkerson knew. It is why they picked him.

Lastly, Griffith and Johnson were at Light Heavyweight not Middleweight so not sure why you are listing them? :huh

Castro was awful. Jones lone good win at Middleweight was for a vacant trinket belt that was meaningless. Period. What GGG has done at Middleweight is on par with what Jones did. If GGG unifies he passes Jones at Middleweight. Beating a green Hopkins in 1993 doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things.

People forget how big fast and string was at this weight...they'd call this a cherry pick.

Now you're just making yourself look like an idiot.

Ruiz landed flush on Jones and Roy kept coming. We ALL saw the fight, idiot.

If Ruiz couldn't put Jones down [or any other 160lb'er for that matter] what makes you think Triple Duck can?

    RJJ has a glass jaw.

GGG has one of the best power @ 160 in the history of the sport.

RJJ was juiced to the gills and was caught cheating.

    all facts.

So you're saying that 160 lb. Golovkin hit harder than 230 lb. Ruiz, am I understanding this right?

The hype train here is really going off the track.

Jones fought Ruiz in March 2003. His last ko was in December of 1999, yes 3.5 years, BUT HE ONLY HAD 4 FIGHTS. Three against a hall-of Famer (Holyfield) one against a very good heavyweight, Kirk Johnson.

Before that he had 6 KOs in a row against the type of opposition GGG has fought, except bigger.

Castro was a very tough world Jr. Middleweight Champion with a 70-3 record who bulked up to cruiserweight (at 5'9) and went 10 with Juan Carlos Gomez, and 12 with Vassily Jirov IN THEIR PRIMES.

The guy ended up with 130 wins and 11 losses, but somehow he was "awful."

When Jones fought the "green" Hopkins, he had had 21 fights, Bernard had had ....23!

and Bernard didn't lose again for 12 years.

    You didn't even mention Toney.

yerp extra 70lbs in weight generates considerably more power.

that's the weight of more than one whole warehouse sack of potatoes, the ones you need to carry on your shoulder they are big to hold in your hands.

that much extra force. freaking massive, imagine someone threw one of them huge sacks and more at you.

its not possible for GGG to generate that from nowhere.

Because Toney was at Super Middleweight

Why would I list Toney comparing what Jones and GGG did/have done at Middleweight? :huh

You seem all over the place with this. Listing Light Heavyweights and Super Middleweights to compare to what GGG is doing at Middleweight. Even then Jones was a Super Middleweight even less time than he was at Middleweight and we have a sample size of 7 fights to judge before he went to Light Heavyweight and won some trinket meaningless belts while avoiding THE champion and #1 fighter in the division....there is a pattern here.

:lol::lol::lol::lol: The fight was a bad sparring session. There were several rounds where Jones either threw or landed in the single digits in punches but he was coming at Ruiz? :rofl:patsch

Roy by stoppage, those hooks would be just too much for GGG.

I might add I think Roy beats everybody ever at 160, Hagler, Robinson, Leonard , Hearns, everybody.
