I'd say Jackson may have more raw power, but GGG has superior skills to deliver the power and win fights.

  4. No, he doesn't.

One punch KO power is a guy like Mike Tyson, Randall Bailey, George Foreman, or Thomas Hearns.

GGG is comparable to a guy like Arthur Abraham.

Abraham has freakish power. Same with miranda. GGG just has better delivery.

Gotta give Jackson the edge, but GGG is the class right below, Legit one-shot power in either hand, and even the innocent looking punches do serious damage. That's the mark of power.

Wind-up guys might look more impressive to fans and on video, but the Joe Louis/Julian Jackson/GGG kinds of punchers delivered brutal efficiency that's easy to not fully appreciate because they don't have the theatrical quality of the hyper-aggressive sluggers. You don't fully appreciate that kind of power until you see the opponent's reaction to it.

Julian jackson will have threads like this for years to come. I gurantee you GGG wont. That gives you my answer. Benn hits harder than him. Thats a different argument.

No, Jackson had more power. When a fighter feels Golovkin's power they usually go into a shell, he hits that hard but Jackson's opponents rarely had the opportunity to go into a shell, because once you felt his power you were already flat on your back and out cold. Jackson's power was quite simply scary.

I don't even think Golovkin hit's as hard as McClellan, who was another middleweight monster in terms of power. But he hits incredibly hard, that's plain to see.

McClellan gets a little overrated in these things. After getting outboxed by veteran gatekeepers, King was smart to adjust his matchmaking and match him up with smaller fighters who had a history of getting knocked out. Gerald would do exactly what he was supposed to- outgun the other guy since he had a size advantage, a chin, and a punch.

He doesn't have the track record Golovkin does of stopping guys who've never been stopped or knocking out contenders.

  11. Even Malignaggi has had a few knockouts early in his career.

Triangle theory's don't work. I'm not sayin GGG doesn't hit hard, I'm just saying he's not in the league of Julian Kackson in terms or punching power.

Oh I give Jackson the edge, too. But saying GGG doesn't have one punch power when he's got numerous fights ending with one punch knockouts is a head-scratcher.

This thread reminded me of a friend of mine. A little off topic, but the guy knockout everyone he street fought. But check this out.... he knocked out a couple of pro boxers with one punch. He once knocked out 4 bouncers at a bar, and that is after knocking out some meat- head bully. Yet, he never trained or work out. Was a lazy son of a gun. If only he trained to be a boxer.

Jackson has the edge. Guys were completely asleep before the hit the mat. Incredible. But ggg can bang as well
