He needs to take his time and not rush to take an unrecoverable ass whipping.

Golovkin's grill is pure Russian Glass and HBO wants to avoid subscribers discovering this fact too soon.

I'm a big Froch fan and I like Golovkin a lot too. Straight up, I pick Golovkin here. Froch, tremendous as he's been in the past, must be nearing the end by now.
I don't want to write him off because Froch is Froch and you can never rule him out, but I just feel that Golovkin has the style to make life very difficult for him.

People wrote Froch off against Abraham when he was the man knocking everyone out at 160.

People wrote Froch off when he fought Bute expecting Lucian to win.

People wrote Froch off against Groves before he flattened him.

Do so again at your own peril, we know everything there is to know about Carl, and picking against him in any fight where the other man is likely to take his punches is a fools mistake.

Exactly. People are too impressed by power and against this particular fighter power means almost nothing.

Nobody expected Froch to not eat punches against AA and get punished for his flaws but he dominated AA. Hitting hard at middle doesn't mean you'll hit hard at super middle.

Benn when he moved up wasn't the same puncher he was at middle, same with AA. Even McClellan's power wasn't enough when moved up to super middle. Nobody knows how those extra 8lbs will effect GGG.

People forget about a lot of Carls previous fights, even against Jermain Taylor with Froch's 'non-existent' defence people where expecting him to fall short against the best 160 had to offer at the time. In the build up to the Abraham fight nobody at all expected Froch to take Abrahams power, and it never happened because Froch dominated him. Both times that he fought Kessler, who had clear power at the weight with skills to match, he was on the end of a hard fought and ultimately razor thin decision in Denmark before winning the rematch a few years later. I could go on and on.

On the other hand all we know about Golovkin is that he can beat men that he should be beating convincingly. Until he's tested truly in his own weight class, let alone the one above, I think people talking about him sparking Froch are just being silly.

Golovkin gets Abraham'd, Frochs freakishly long jab would give him nightmares

the common denominator here is that neither AA or bute had ever stepped up at any time previously

golovkin's in the US, he has network backing and notoriety
he's ticked all the boxes when it comes to getting what he wants, don't worry about that
the only thing he's done 'wrong' is beating his opponents 'too impressively'

Andrade II (KO) - Bute looked impressive
Maranda (TKO) - Bute looked impressive
Brinkley (KO) - Bute looks impressive again
    Magee (TKO) - Still impressive
    Mendy (KO) - Impressive
Johnson (UD) - Hype train rolls on
Froch (L-TKO5) - Everybody bails off of the Hype train

many times? twice in his whole career and one of them would of finished almost 99 % of any other boxer, would be an amazing fight but I think froch would be too durable and strong

Ain't gonna make a prediction but on paper this has the potential to be a fantastic fight.

Thing is Froch is now close to retirement and is only really looking at the biggest fights available (apparently JCC jr is under discussion) - and I'm not sure GGG is quite a big enough draw yet.

Hopefully this fight can get made before Froch retires though.
