I suspect Golovkin will not get a shot at the middleweight title any time soon. Cotto's next big fight will be either Mayweather or Alvarez. In those fights I'd pick Mayweather and Alvarez is a LIVE dog, IMO. If either of those guys beat Cotto in the next 6-8 months, they will take the 160lb title to Showtime. In the case of Alvarez, if Cotto loses, then I would expect there to be an immediate rematch. In the case of Mayweather, he'll just sit on the middleweight title or use it as a bargaining chip in any future Pacquiao negotiations. If Alvarez is next up for Cotto and Miguel wins - there is always the Mayweather rematch which would be HUGE.

    Not quite.

There are only TWO meaningful fights left for Golovkin @ 160. Quillin or Cotto. That's it. If he fights any other 160lb'er then it's fluff, meaningless. If he doesn't get Quillin or Cotto in the next 6 months then he might as well move up...

    No.

    Edison Miranda.

Hell, I'd rate Carl Froch ahead of him too...

168 is one of the deeper divisions in boxing right now. Brutal ass whipping await Triple Duck there. He'll stay put beating up on over matched 154lb'ers and c level middleweights...

    Agreed .

Yet Miguel would get completely slaughtered the min he gets into the ring with Golovkin .

Quillin, Cotto and Soliman. So, that's another year at 160 probably.

A fight against Soliman is meaningless. Period. It doesn't enhance his legacy at all. If he's not going to fight Quillin or Cotto in his next fight then he needs to move up to 168 and start building his credibility there. He's on the down side of 32 years old and he hasn't fought one single marquee fighter. Not one. He can't fight the Daniel Geale's of the world forever. At some point he'll have to step up his competition to the "A" level...

Do Russians who sign up to Golovkin's fan club get free supplies of krokodil shipped to them to enjoy before the start of each fight?
Is that why Golovkin the Russian's fans aren't aware that he is fighting bums with each match?

And some of those bums are making Golovkin look bad in the process. Geale was on his way to clowning Golovkin before his chin got in the way.

Thank you. GGG is good no lie no hate im tired of ppl saying hes the best at 160 no duh. hes 32 not 22, if hes that great he'll challenge himself at 168 where some top level and top name guys are. Ward, Froch, JCCjr, ect. why wait times not on his side move up now. all the other greats have done it. tired of the hype step up. i would love to see GGG smash on Jr. thats a money fight a PAY PER VIEW FIGHT. then froch in england another MONEY FIGHT. not buying the hype till he moves up
