I was watching some old fights of his on BoxNation yesterday before I cancelled my subscription, and it really struck me that his physique is unlike any that you see in boxing today, with the more stringent drug tests.

Does anyone have any strong feelings or opinions either way as to whether his physique had a helping hand from steroids?

You don't get a crazy body like Frank had without being on the gear.

Check out Franks physique from the late 80s and then have a look at him in the early to mid 90s, , fairly obvious he was juicing. .

All pro boxers are juicing. I thought everybody knew this.

Doubt very much frank was using drugs, certainly not to any serious degree, if at all. For starters he was muscular from the start. He never underwent any sudden inexplicable increases in muscularity, stamina, endurance etc

These characteristics remained constant throughout his career. (Big muscles, poor stamina).

If anything Lennox Lewis increased hugely in bulk ...by at least 25 pounds of solid muscle over the course of a few years. Maybe we should be asking the question of him, not Bruno?

do you think? He always looked decked out to me.

if he was juicing, he was juicing from the 80s, not starting in the 90s.

Surprised no one mentions Holyfield, loo at him from the first Bowe fight and then the Tyson fights and tell me this guy wasn't juicing

I dont think Bruno was juicing...if he was, it didn't help him much

Everybody knows about Holyfield, he was found out many years ago. But I'm pretty sure Frank (although I've always been a fan) was juiced up too.

Bruno was clean imo. He used to gas in the later rounds aswell. Gear wouldv carried him thru. A far too honest man to cheat

Whilst i agree he could have been using in a very small way later , he was a very very hard trainer and it is in his genes anyway. as you can see in pictures of him when he was 14 he looked big

A friend of mine who never trained in any form what so ever, was always big and very muscular and looked fantastic right up into his 30's

Not sure what good it did him if he was, no doubt added power but it slowed him up and used up more gas.
