I think the fight could resemble the first Pacquiao vs Bradley fight where Bradley moved well boxed and limited the engagements to spurts and there were a lot of closely competed rounds where Pacquiao landed the harder punches

I think at the best Algeri bravely loses 116-112 and puts on a good performances and makes Manny work hard to catch him and corner him and makes it a difficult fight

Manny has lots of difficulty with the jab and the right hand, I can see Algeri putting leather on him

At worst, its a total out classing and Algeri hardly wins a round

 

Crap PPV no doubt since Algieri is a baby on the big stage and drums up little excitement for the event (there won't be any trash-talking between he and Pac, just lots of polite boring mutual respect...not to mention this will very likely go twelve...) but the matchup itself is intriguing. Algieri could outbox Pac.

 

Margarito is face first brawler, Algieri has a good jab, footwork, and can box.

 

I'm writing Algieri off. The best he can hope for is to lose via controversial decision. He won't be getting a stoppage and he won't be getting a decision victory. I'm personally picking Pacquiao to win decisively. Algieri is a relatively basic fighter.

 

I'm not so convinced Algieri is much of a challenge. Algieri was against a fairly predictable, come forward Provodnikov. Ruslan doesn't have lateral or head movement in his vocabulary. I doubt Algieri will have much success against Pac who darts in and out and has lately used movement much more effectively to circle around his opponents. Pac's elusiveness is many levels above Ruslan. Moreover, Pac hits as hard if not harder than Ruslan.

I'll stand firm. It will be one sided and likely a KO.

 

I'm not sure how Algieri got a shot at Ruslan. He hadn't really beat any notable fighters. He fought Ruslan at 140, this fight is for the WBO WW/147 Lb. world title belt. Like I said, let's get on with it... but Algieri hasn't really earned it.

 

It'll be an accomplishment if Pacquiao actually wins three rounds in this fight.

OP you made the mistake of comparing Provo to Pac.

Provo is a bum with power in both hands. He came straight out the bar down the street. Arturo Gatti has more skills then him.

Algieri has no chance to adjust to Pac's speed. He never seen anything close to it before.
