Exactly , I don't see how calzaghe can dominate a division for ten years, then go up in weight and become the lineal light heavyweight champion and only get to number 3 on the p4p list. Don't want to play the race card but, Herrera, Algieri, Malignaggi, Calzaghe,Kessler, Martinez, Froch all have a ton of skill yet they are mocked as featherfisted or overrated, yet Ward Floyd BHop Dirrells etc, get nothing but incessant hype and love thrown on them, in spite of neither one being exciting or having a high KO percentage, I wonder why.
In fairness calzaghe was extremely exciting and before all his hand problems hit like a tank, Calzaghe beat an undefeated Kessler clearly and fairly, ward beat him after that by headbutting him to death and initiating over 100 clinches and I hear people on here say ward did a better job on him lmfao
People hate and downplay for many reasons race, nationality, etc. It all plays a part and America is terrible with our constant nationalism, cycling and soccer mainly Euro atheletes we don't care, Lance Armstrong starts winning or US does well in the World Cup we're huge fans. I find amazing that Pacquiao has been able to connect as well as he has, but I think alot of casuals here, think of him as a cute little harmless midget who beats big guys down so its a novelty act to them.

Floyd is arguably the best boxer in this era. Bhop is 50 years old and champion of the world. Dirrell got robbed against froch. And robbed with a big R. Algieri only had provodnikov has a good win, which isn't all that good ( and at 140, why does he get a title fight at 147 ? ). I'm a big fan of Martinez, Calzaghe and Malignaggi though American boxing fans usually don't like EU boxer, but especially british one, not because of the boxer, but because there's a lot of problems with the referees / judging over there, similar to how Alvarez had ''rigged'' judges in all of his ''step up'' fight.
Every boxer gets hate. People call Floyd, Ward and B-Hop "boring". And dirty. There is no one in the sport free of criticism. But to be fair, May, Ward, and BHop are all proven master boxers. No debate there. At all. Everyone you mentioned outside of Calzaghe are just good fighters, and a clear step below May, Ward, BHop. They all get hate. As my uncle used to say, "God is good depending on who you ask" It's all opinion.
