As long as Wlad continues to fight the #1 rated contenders I have no issue if he wants to squeeze in a name fight for a cash grab. He's faced more of the best contenders in his division than most other champions, hence his #3 p4p rating by Ring magazine. I mean he would probably generate more interest fighting Briggs believe it or not, than fighting Pulev who is the second best fighter in the division.
Besides with every other pretender in the division pulling out or postponing fights now from Stiverne to Fury etc, Wlad will prob have a window to make two defenses if he gets past Pulev before his next mandatory is due.

People give Wlad crap for facing manditories, and a few voluntaries against UNDEFEATED guys like Wach, and Pianeta... Mormeck was pretty bad I admit, Wlad could have done much better than that. That's really the only name I have problem with on his resume.

Ali defended against the likes of Jean-Pierre Coopman and Richard Dunn! Yet I don't see anyone giving Ali flack, Holmes has some pretty terrible defenses as well.

I think this is quite funny, but I also got a feeling it's just bad acting. This fight might actually happen later this year, certainly because Fury-Chisora is postponed and Wlad doesn't have any other mandatory challengers left atm. If he gets past Pulev ofcourse.

Briggs just shows up shirtless to semi-public places while Wlad stands there laughing and asking him to go away.

If that's "staged" they need to hire a new writer

They brought Briggs in to the Klitschko-Leapai press conference with a van from K2. How is it possible he can always come so close to Klitschko, that everything is filmed at the right time, etc. I think it is staged.

Wladimir is too much of a gentleman to fight Shannon in the ring. Just as the Klitschkos never wanted to fight Holyfield out of too much respect, same goes for Briggs at this stage.

If planned from K2 or if Briggs is really chasing him, its funny at the end and I bet even CHEF could knock this senile steroid grandpa out :bbb

Briggs is probably on the K2 payroll. Good for him, easy money and helps promote Wlad's fights. Since the Europeans increasingly dominant pro boxing it is a good thing to throw the Americans a few bones.

Briggs dies in his own act, simply because he is stinking as an Ali-imitator. It aint funny no more. He may write himself a nice payday but he does´nt write boxing history.
He missed his chances more than a decade ago.

He didn't deserve the fight and RTL can not really make that fight since everyone saw his performance against Vitali. It's absurd. If there is ever an US HW who doesn't duck Wlad, it will be a fight against Thompson again.
