He had iron chinned Valuev out on his feet in the last round. That healthy version of Haye smashes Wlads glass all over the ring
Tsk. He ran more than Lara. He ran so much his foot became red. He was terrified of Wlad's power, he was diving and rolling all over the place to avoid being hit after mistakes. At least Wlad tried to force the action, the Gaymaker instead.... http://talksport.com/sites/default/.../tscouk_old_image/haye blow.JPG?itok=87SpgTal :hey :deal
What are you trying to say? European fans don't count? I heard the fight was pretty big in America anyway.
Don't get carried away, Wlad dealt with Haye rather easily and would most likely do the same if they ever meet again.
Seriously, I think he is a good boxer, but what annoys me is how he goes about things. If you know you have a fragile shoulder, take your time, rehabilitate it, don't rush it, and when you feel it's good enough to fight, fight some "easy" opponent and try it out. Don't just go around calling top guys out, hell, even get them to sign the contract, and then pull out, not one time, but several. These guys also have bills to pay. BTW didn't Haye's doctor say his career was over?
He said it was career threatening. That maybe it would be for the best to retire. Dont ever remember Haye saying that he'd never be back, just that it was a possibility.
How do we know? He barely fought, has only 25 fights. Pulls out of 5 of his 25 total fights. We simply don't know if Haye is any good at the elite HW level. Whenever he had the chance to show us he's great he either stunk out the joint (Valuev, Wlad) or simply withdrew from the fight altogether (Vitali, Fury). Haye is a big unknown. We have never seen him against the likes of Povetkin, Pulev, Fury or Thompson which wold have been us a clue about his true abilities at HW. Haye carefully avoided any risky fights. Together with his extreme level of inactivity it makes it hard to judge his skill level IMO.
not sure if there are any elites HWs to be fair. the closest thing is wlad, yet I've not heard of elites who get bowled over so easily to middling opps the way he repeatedly has been.
if you cant see what an achievement it was for wlad to not only redefine himself after the sanders demolition, but to make his comeback against sam peter, win, and get to the top of the heap again - then you're following the wrong sport
