My pick would be the late Emmanuel Steward, trained 41 world champions including the likes of Lennox Lewis, Wladimir Klitschko, Thomas Hearns, Wilfred Benítez, Julio César Chávez, Evander Holyfield, Naseem Hamed, Oscar De La Hoya, Michael Moorer, Gerald McClellan etc.

I prefer Futch, but I must admit that Steward's improvement of Lewis and now the transformation of Wlad into one of the most dominant champions in history has to be admired. He is certaintly up there.

Saw James Toney interviewed...it may have been the one on Chris Byrds youtube channel, can't be bothered to check. Anyway he said that Bill Miller was the best brain and 'the teacher' (or words to that effect) in the Kronk but "Emmanuel got the credit"

Seriously though, why the **** would anyone with an atom of self-respect look to be trained by (and managed by) a guy who himself called his camp "Losers Unlimited"??

Fighters with less talent who were fighting for a pay cheque I guess. I used to live up the road from the gym he had over the pub, real old school place, what boxing's all about.

Ray Arcel? Incredible to think he worked with arguably the 2 best Lightweights ever,Duran and as far back as Benny Leanord.

Fixed. Also got Sammy Mandell, who couldn't punch his way out of a wet paper bag, to the lightweight title. Also got Bud Taylor to the bantam title. Also trained Jersey Joe Walcott for a minute.

When Arcel trained Leonard he was a chubby come-backing welterweight.Top trainer though.
I doubt there has been a superior tactician to Eddie Futch. The guy in the link below could hold his own with anyone.
