    First fight..yep.
Both unbeaten and at or near prime.
Interestingly Frazier was the first opponent Ali fought who was both unbeaten and younger than himself (i believe).
Frazier earned his place in history that night.
    His detractors forget two things.
1.The guy had genuine health issues (high blood pressure and virtually blind in one eye)
2.How hard boxing is... not everyone can have longevity.
The first fight wasnt called Fight of the Century for nothing.

I think that the first fight was also the mist significant entertainment-wise because of the sheer excitement of seeing two undefeated all time greats in the ring together. The aura of invincibility was no longer there for the 2nd and 3rd fights.

Last time i checked, didnt Wladmir pull out of a fight, twice with that poor mans Joe Frazier?

Frazier would have beat the living **** out of Wladmir

Oh look, another general reject. Tired of being owned over there, huh?

Anyway yeah, FOTC is arguably the biggest heavyweight fight of all time. (Some would argue Johnson-Jeffries and that's fine by me.)

That's what would happen to Frazier repeatedly until he would get knocked out or stopped by the ref.

I watched the fight and Vitali had a look of quit in his eyes, just like he was happy the Byrd and Lewis fights were stopped.

Frazier would take Vitali to deep waters and drown him.

 You're the biggest joke on this forum. Vitali beat the crap out of Peter in that fight and made him quit on his stool. Btw he hadn't fought in 4 years.

Frazier barely beat the Firpo clone Bonavena, the poor man's Klitschko Joe Bugner and needed the late rounds to dispatch the fat bum Buster Mathis.
How many big power punchers did Frazier beat, that's right ZERO. Vitali happens to have the best knockout/win ratio of any heavyweight champion in history.

He was handily winning both fights on the scorecards. You didn't see him running around the ring protesting the stoppage against Lewis, or how he demanded a rematch where Lewis wisely decided to retire because he knew he'd lose a second fight?

Vitali halted the fight with Bryd because of a torn shoulder that could have ended his career if he fought on to get the decision win.
So now it's ok that Tyson quit against Williams with an injured knee but it's not ok when Vitali bowes out with an injured shoulder? :huh
