what soliman is doing isn't distantly related to what Hopkins is doing now
soliman won 'a belt' off a guy who made a career from not fighting top opponents - it might sound flattering to call soliman a 'world champion', but its not close to being true, is it?

 

Go watch the fights, and score them yourself on the criteria.
Clean EFFECTIVE punching, effective agression and defense.

Soliman outthrew, outlanded, and made Winky miss and look aweful.

Now, b/c HBO announcers though it looked less than amatuerish and said he'd be wasted by the 4th rd, they were biting their preverbial tongues in the 12th when Soliman was still outlanding, outthrowing, and roughing Winky up.

Same goes for Eastman. He had to have his referee allow him to hold and hit Soliman for 12 rds just to eek out a ref's decision.:rofl

Im talking about his maintaining relevance all these yrs later.

Remember that at 38/39 BHop wasnt exactly considered a great.....it was his continuing to do well as he aged that has kept him in the headlines and made him a legend.

And I'd like to mention........there are a bunch of cans on Bhops resume in between losses, and even while he was supposedly a p4per.:---(

 

Gennady is NOT Bute, but I smell a similar type of letdown in his future. The top guys Golovkin claims to want to fight are leagues above what he's seeing now.

 

theres a big difference between a fighter ruling his division on the world stage, and a fighter 'ruling his division' because, with german network backing, he can convince beercan germans that he is the cat's meow

I agree that hopkins' longevity won't be hurting him, and soliman certainly deserves props for being relevant with the trinket he's picked up...maybe i'm too much the cynic sometimes

 

Pretty sure I recall Soliman landing **** punches. Winky's were more effective and clean.

But hey, you're the only one who's ever had Winky losing that I've seen...so yeah. I am not dogging Soliman. I like him. He's not a bad fighter at all. 32-4 since his awful 12-7 pro career start.

 

They were so happy to hear it's not GGG that they didn't bother asking him who is that next mysterious opponent. Smh.
