Which of the men that challenged unsuccessfully for the heavyweight title but never held it had the most power? Top Ten please?

    Mine chronologically
    Maher
    Sharkey
    Firpo
    Galento
    Williams
    Lyle
    Shavers
    Cooney
    Tua
    Morrison

I could change Galento for Mike Weaver:think
    Thoughts?

Interesting, but I wouldn't include Carnera or Foster. Foster, though devastating against light heavies, did not pack much power against the big dudes.

Not sure if he'd make the top 10, but Kallie Knoetze, despite his failings, could really whack.

Surely David Tua is on your list as well as Ike Ibeabuchi.

Carnera was meant to be Galento:oops: ,and I'm referring to Mac Foster not Bob .Sorry for the mix up.

F**k up Mac Foster v Ali was not for the title I had the fact that it was 15rds in my head.
    scrub Foster and insert Tua.

Tua could take the place of the wrongly named Carnera [it should have read Galento].
Ibeabuchi never challenged for the heavyweight title.

    Never fought for the title.
I did underline the relevant qualifications.

Neither Ruddock *nor Godfrey ever fought for the title
    * vacant IBC does not count.
So you have two spots to fill.

I dunno, a striking number of boys said Choynski was the hardest puncher they had met. Including Fitz, I believe, who fought both.

Yes, it's going very well. I've mostly been watching the test match though
