The following are fighters who would not get hit so much because they had above average defense.

JCC sr defense is what the sweet science is all about, standing a couple inches away from an opponent and still managing to bob and weave most punches.
DLH type defense is also great because rather than running around the ring fighters with this defense parry off punches and remain in punching range.
Whitaker defense was also great because he was very elusive yet stayed in the pocket to counter.

What are your examples of great defense.

Rigondeaux has the best defense in boxing. He doesn't get hit anywhere as much as Floyd does. His chin used to be questionable, which is why he got dropped by a Cordoba jab. But he survived a Donaire left hook and recovered just fine.

We still have to see Rigondeaux vs an elite pressure fighter and fighters who cut the ring off better, but you can make a case for him having the best defense. I think it's between him and Floyd.

Definitely Rigondeaux. He has the most amazing footwork in the game. He is NEVER out of position either defensively or offensively.

GGG choses to walk through punches against light-hitting opponent. It does not mean that his defense sucks. Let's wait and see him against big puncher. But the one who will not be KOd himself too quickly )))) Not like Stevens - big puncher, but can't take a shot himself...
