pac vs algieri should be on regular cable.

Nothing against Maidana, but this Algieiri-Pacquaio fight is a lot more interesting than Pacquaio-Mayweather II. At least there's some element of suspense to see how good Algieiri is.

We saw Floyd figure him out for the 2nd half of the fight and it's already back to the same standard floyd **** with the gloves and weights etc. We are taking up where we left off from a fight nobody was really that interested in the first time around.

Perhaps following this epic bout, Pacquiao canthen take on someone with a 0-0 record in order to really maximize the element of suspense and create an event where we truly find out how good someone is.

I wouldn't consider it an upset if algieri won on points, won't cost me a penny to watch either so I'm not arsed what they have to pay I the us of a.

I forget how slow people are on here sometimes. This isn't my high rise office, this is just me dealing with the common section 8 caveman on the street.

Algieri: He beat Provodnikov. Provodnikov very good. Algieiri better. We not know how much better.

Maidana: We see Maidana lose before. Few times. We know he good. He not good as Floyd.

Arum knows what he's doing. Combine the modest PPV numbers and the casino money he gets from Macau, everyone involved makes a handsome profit.

I'm a Pac fan, but now it appears all about the money. He won't fight for less than $20 million, so his fights end up on PPV. If he wanted to take less money, I'm sure HBO would gladly have him on regular HBO. However, once a fighter demands a certain level of purse, there is no feasible way around PPV.

Aw shucks, how sweet of you to put it in those terms for a mere simpleton like myself! The parts I'd specifically object to are "beat Provodnikov" and "Provodnikov very good" since Algieri's lone notable result was controversial at best and since Provodnikov's own thin resume would hardly merit a Pacquiao fight. Algieri has the almighty 0 though, which I guess looks attractive from those sky rises regardless of how padded it is.

Of course it’s not PPV and neither is Floyd v Maidana. PPV used to be when elite fighters fought in competitive fights unifying titles etc. Nowadays every fight is PPV just because the fighter is well known. These fighters are multi-millionaires already making fortunes in sponsorship etc. the networks make hundreds of millions in advertising sports, they need to crack down on fighters expecting 32 million guarantees plus PPV shares.

If Floyd and Pac want to make 20-30 million per fight, then fight someone worth fighting if they expect us to pay. If they can’t fight each other and there is nobody PPV worthy in the division then they need to move up. If they are too small to move up they need to fight on regular TV or retire.

Stop buying into the PPV culture and they will have to stop it.

no doubt floyd/maidana is in the exact same boat. that fight isn't ppv worthy either. i've already said in other threads...i'm skipping it.

I agree this fight should not be PPV.

I agree even more on Floyd / Maidana.

(While I agree that styles make fights, I respectfully disagree that Algieri could win. I think his mouth is already part of his problem, and pretty soon you will hear Pacquiao saying "we will solve this in the ring." He tends to win those fights. Algieri IS skilled, but not smart in being full of himself after one meaningful victory. In his position, I wouldn't motivate Pacquiao. Mainly- Pac wins for all of the other reasons- he will be able to walk through what Algieri throws; being WAY more skilled and dangerous than Prov he is going to hit Algieri WAY more. I think it gets stopped or Algieri plays duck and cover for the last half of the fight.)

We'll see... on the day they RE-PLAY the fight. I think no one should buy it.

All these *******s talking good about Chris hyping him up. If pac does loose, they will turn a 360 and completely bash him. Hope pac wins as he should so he can go after Danny Garcia and make angel eat his ****.

the better question is how do u justify a $20mil for a guy coming off ktfo6 and two subpar performances?
