Would never disrespected Hopkins for not taking the fight, he deserves to fight whoever he wants at his age, but if this fight happens....wow
Roy (Reno) Dan, I am reading various twitter postings from reliable people claiming there are serious discussion for Hopkins-Kovalev. I find that hard to believe. Have you heard anything? Dan Rafael, King Fight Freak (2:01 PM) They are definitely talking. BHop has to make a unification fight for his next bout or the IBF will order the mandatory next. So if he can't finalize with Stevenson (who may be on ice because of the lawsuit) he needs to get Kovalev-Caparello winner.
That was a while ago. There was some confusion as to who was representing Hopkins at the time she approached the possible parties. That was resolved on Hopkins end and negotiations have been ongoing, November is the date that seems most likely.
It's a done deal when both boxers have signed the contract. Until then, it's just people blowing smoke as far as I am concerned. I have a hard time believing that Hopkins is getting in the ring with Kovalev. If he does, I will be shocked and have to give major credit to Hopkins for taking this type of fight this late in his career.
Excellent fight, great measuring stick to see where each guy truly is at this stage in their careers.
Could be done on NBC. Could even be picked up by Wealth TV as a PPV. Also, Bob Arum just sent Lomachenko over to Showtime for the Russel fight. So it's not impossible to make the fight so long as there's legal agreements beforehand.:think
Hopkins is a masterful boxer ill give him all the credit he deserves. And he can give you Sergey KRUSHER Kovalev alot of problems. Having said that Sergey KRUSHER Kovalev is alot more dangerous than Hopkins has faced in quite a while.
