Against Kovalev, yes. Kovalev is under HBO contract. BHop is not under contract to anyone.

 

According to Kathy Duva, BHop and everyone else was on the approved list with HBO when Kovalev signed with them last year.

I can't even imagine Kovalev and Bernard Hopkins in the same ring. I am gonna enjoy every time the mastercraftsman slip underneath the sloppy jab and blast his enormous facial with counters from all angles, it's gonna be a feast of shooting geometry against the insides of a stiff solid block.

In recent times, Pascal, Dawson, and Murat had no problems whatsoever landing on Hopkins. Just putting the facts out there.

 

Could Hopkins deal with the pressure that Kovalev would bring for 3 minutes a round for 12 rounds? I don't think so but hopefully we get a chance to see.

Have you ever heard the phrase "style make fight"? Kovalev is neither slick nor as fast as Dawson.

 

But he does so many other things better than Dawson. If you don't think Kovalev is a better fighter, well, I don't know what to tell you.

 

If Kovalev wins, he would have beaten an old, faded Hopkins.
