I've watched Manny for many years and bought a lot of his PPVs, but I will not be buying this one. This is one of those "rest" fights. Imo Algerie squeeked by Ruslan and doesn't possess the skills to compete with Manny. Ruslan, who I like to watch, is overrated because of his performance against Bradley. He may develop more, time will tell, but when he fought Algerie you saw his flaws. Fell in love with his power and kept on looking for one big shot rather than trying to set things up. If he had of went to the body more after the first rd he would have caught Algerie eventually.

Wasn't Algerie fighting on Friday Night Fights 2 or 3 bouts ago? I think that's a good indication of his skill level right now. He's a light hitter with an average chin and lots of heart but if Manny is his usual self he should blow Algerie out in less than 5 rds.

So for me this is not a PPV worthy fight, it should be on regular cable.

I thought he was a good guy, too - It was one clip of him talking about getting more for the fight and how he had earned it. I do not remember even which channel I had on- more of a drive by the TV, but the impression I got listening to it was that he was pretty ****y.

The commentator even said "Algieri feels like he will have an easy time with Pacquiao." This almost had to be on HBO.

You know, I sincerely hope he IS a humble guy and I just read that wrong by not seeing the whole interview. I enjoyed his fight with Prov.

Even so, I still think that Pacquiao will win for nearly every reason.

We'll all be able to watch in coming weeks to see what Algieri is like.

    Great if I'm proven wrong.

I like Ruslan but I think if he was as good as many of his supporters have said, Algerie wouldn't have been let off the hook. I'm still not sold on Canelo either. Thought he looked amateurish against Lara, but I still think he won. He has been well matched throught his career but I thought he would have learned more from the Mayweather bout. I was expecting a better performance against Lara. Who do you think wins in Canelo vs Algerie? I'd pick Canelo even though I feel he's a bit overrated still.

Have you got any idea how many Flips live in the US? They will buy Pacs PPV no matter who he fights. This fight is for them.

So now Floyd is breaking PPV records because of his undercards?

    Thanks for clarifying.

PPV is for entertainment. Pac entertains more regardless of his opponents, fact. Pac is never the reason his fights are boring, Floyd is the reason his fights are boring.

So now? Since when did I say Floyd sold a card on his own???

If you think any SINGLE fighter is selling the PPV, you're insane. It's a combination of things. Fact is though, Floyd is a bigger draw than Pacquiao, hands down, not that it matters anyway but you seem to be butt hurt about it. Floyd is the bigger draw because against common opponents, he's always outsold Pacquiao.

And by the way, finding a fighter boring is SUBJECTIVE, meaning it is an opinion. I don't find Floyd, Ward, or Rigo boring, but a lot of people do.

Floyd is the biggest draw in boxing because he ALONE holds the records for highest PPVs.

Boring is not subjective. Just like being ugly or beautiful isn't subjective. Sure there may be the odds woman who finds Danny Devito extremely attractive and Johnny Depp ugly, just like there are the odd one out that dont think Floyd is boring as fk.

And he didn't outsell him against JMM. Also outselling against an opponent is not sole indicator for being a bigger draw or not. By that logic, Rios is twice the draw Morales and Barrera is because he outsold them in a common opponent in Pac. Floyd caught them at their hype train, spends more money promoting, does more hyping, and stacks up his cards more. Simple as.

My comment was about Algerie and Provo and you mentioned Canelo swinging wildly in the air and hitting arms. What else am I to think you meant, Canelo against Grebb? Canelo against Mosely? Canelo against anyone but Algerie? Or maybe he's shadow boxing and hitting his own arms? I don't even know why I bothered as your use of "drainello" as a sobriquet for Canelo leads me to believe you're a hatter.
