Roach open to Cotto/Golovkin fight

    "If we did fight him I'd like the fight to be closer to 154 [pounds] to make him come down a little bit. He's very strong, but I think we definitely could negotiate that fight for sure. Cotto made 155 last time [for the Martinez fight]. He's a little smaller than Golovkin, so I'd like him to come down as far as possible."

    I know some people will get up all upset over Roach looking for another catchweight. However, Golovkin and his trainer did say that he can make 154. If they can't get the fight with Canelo done, Maybe Cotto/Golovkin happens next June.

    GGG wouldnt make the fight unless the MW titles were on the line, and that would have to be at 155 minimum.

    But, ofc, that's no problem for GGG.....he could be fighting at WW if he chose to.:think

    There is no minimum weight. The fight could theoretically happen at a contract weight of 150 lbs. and it still could be for the MW titles.

    This is a business. In this business, winning is the key to success. Guys will do whatever they can to sway the odds in their favor. Martinez was a one legged fighter. There was no reason for him to come down more. Golovkin is a natural MW and in his prime. Cotto started his career at 140. Cotto has the leverage and can make 154/155 with no problem. So of course they would push to bring Golovkin down as much as they could.

    The WBC is crooked, but no way are they willing to play that game. 150 lbs & MW title on the line would be laughed at all over the world.

    If you can show me in the rules where there is a minimum weight for a MW bout, I'd love to see it.

    Same reason Roach told Mosley that Pacquiao wouldn't fight him at 147 after he had already fought DLH there. :yep

    What did you expect???

    GGG's trainer and promoter have made daily public statements on how they would do anything to fight Cotto. That he's the A side and we would make any concession.

    They're so confident in smiley face...well here's the opportunity.
    Take it ...cash the check and don't complain.

    Or...walk away and shut up because his team and Fanboys have already done a lot of talking!!!

    Put up or shut up!!!

    What's a few pounds matter anyways???! That's all I heard when he fought Pacquiao!!!

    So, Cotto wants Golovkin to come way down to 154 for a 160 lb. championship fight? Golovkin said he would come down to 154 for a fight with Mayweather, but Cotto will chicken out.................just like Void...............

    If you're the lineal MW champ, you should fight at MW. End of story.
