Should Marcos Maidana be penalized next fight for illegal head shots?

    If you are a Floyd fan then that type of fight would make you nervous. We're so used to seeing Floyd dominate his opponents so when we so somebody who gives him trouble or makes it dirty we're surprised. You aren't going to outbox Floyd and he won't brawl so what do you expect an opponent to do? The only way to beat Floyd is to make it a "dirty" rough and tumble fight

    If that were really true wouldn't the commission have stepped in & confiscated the gloves??? This is another deal like the Margarito loaded gloves fiasco. Pure BULL****!!!!!

    Who cares? They both employed dirty tactics, and they both often do. It's a fight. Maidana, in fact, has always fought with a strong tendency towards rule breaking.

    The thing of it is, this is the only instance where I remember people complaining about Maidana's tactics. I don't recall some of his rough housing being questioned following the Morales bout.

    Who cares? There's rules for a reason. Maidana was committing some blatant fouls. His trainer was actually in the corner instructing Maidana to fight dirty. I'd be surprised if Maidana got away with such tactics in the rematch.

    And there are fighters who have made bending the rules into an absolute art form. Bending the rules in your favor is a part of the game - and it's something both Maidana and Floyd took liberties with in their last contest.

    Bending the rules? Maidana was aiming for the back of Mayweather's head, head butting, and purposely hitting well below the belt. He also tried to knee Mayweather in the face and tackle him through the ropes. That's not bending the rules, that's blatantly breaking the rules. I don't expect Maidana to stop using such tactics on his own. I do expect the ref to do something about it though.
