    Out of those you listed only Mayweather, Pacquiao, and Marquez have cherry picked. IMO. Golovkin will be considered a cherry picker soon.

    Using your criteria, Bernard Hopkins would be on this list. He is a 3-time lineal champion (once at Middleweight, twice at Light Heavyweight), with ~ 25 successful title defenses, and is the only boxer to simultaneously hold the IBF, WBA, WBC, WBO, and The Ring Magazine titles at any weight class (Middleweight). Hopkins fought just about every challenge along the way.

    Canelo's career achievements are merely a footnote, when put next to those of Hopkins. The highlight of Canelo's career is taking a beating in his prime, to a fighter that is a dozen years older than him. Hopkins never did that. In fact, Hopkins continues to beat fighters nearly 2 decades younger than he is, despite being nearly a dozen years removed from his prime. (I highly doubt Canelo will be fighting in a dozen years.)
