Where did I downplay Joe's greatness, I am not obsessed with constantly posting about one particular fighter unlike you
Nope. That is not why you do this. There is something wrong with you. You either do not see things rationally or you are so immature that you get some perverted satisfaction out of saying absurd things on a boxing forum. Hopkins was not shot and Joe certainly was not shot.
kind of sad that Calzaghe did so little with so much ability that whenever Hopkins does anything that gains him any recognition sad little Calzaghe fans have to remind us of Calzaghe in case we forget who he was.
Man you are a slappyholic :rofl:nut There is no way in hell Calzaghe beat Hopkins. I know it you know it everyone knows it but best of all Slappy Calzaghe knows it too. How else do you explain Calzaghe's refusal to rematch Bernard at home in his beloved Wales. Calzaghe had the chance to pay back his misguided fans like you. Fight a final time live in front of his fans in Wales. If Slappy "ate Hopkins up & spat him out " as you claimed surely he could do it again especially in Wales? We all know why he chose to take to the hills instead Ole Slappy knew Nard was pissed at being shafted & would kick his cowardly ass up and down the Rhondda Valley. So instead he chose to sniff lines get drunk chase ho's ditch his long time G/f & chase and slaughter innocent little rabbits. If Slappy is the "Fighting Pride of Newbridge " I'm the next Pope:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl Slappy is a :|
You are a clown No way in hell would Slappy get in ring with either Stevenson or Kovolev. Shoot Slappy tried to back out of fighting Lacy claiming "inury" because he was scared shitless. :yikes But Enzo saw through Lacy & MADE Slappy fight.
I think it was a case of he didn't want to fight, until he found out Kessler was injured, and only then did he go for it. Calzaghe loved to pose, showboat and mock in front of oldies, weaklings and injured opposition, but on the rare occasion he fought a prime opponent, he was scared shitless and/or arguably lost. Plainly this is a thread sung to that tune of that timeless classic 'Cowardzaghe of the County'.
I am not sure at all how someone at age 43 is a 'leftover'. Its almost a paradox in terms. Calzaghe was the one fighting leftovers, if anything.
Froch lost to kessler in Denmark, frank ****** recently said that getting joe home advantage made the difference. Why didn't calzaghe face Dawson instead of roy jones..??
whils that's opinion, one part is a wrong fact. there was no undisputed joe calzaghe, he surrended titles immediately in order to avoid disputes over them (save a defence of the IBF one). joe was however a good, consistent titlist of the least wanted, least important of the four belts who on occasion managed to momentarily hold other belts. This is a fact beyond dispute.
we all have our opinions. i was at the fight. it was a great atmosphere because of the welsh fans but the fight was horrid. probably the worst main event i've ever seen when you figure in how much i paid for a ticket. i agree it shows how skilled joe was because bhop was/is tough to beat but bhop was also 43. taylor and dawson also have wins over bhop in his 40s career. i think this puts joe's win into perspective as well.
Pavlik whooped Taylor better than Froch yet lost to Hopkins, worse than anyone in recent memory. But I do think Froch is better than Joe.
it was one of the worst title fights I have seen. gassing old man throwing accurately but sparadically versus superfit guy who can barely land, with massive spoiling.
