So if a fighter willingly and personally(without requesting the same from his opponent) weighs anything below the final limit of a weight category, it's automatically a Catchweight fight according to your pathetic, irrelevant and typically abnormal logic?. ******.
Good post. My question to you (and others) though, is if Golovkin CAN make 154...why not do it?? Had he started at 54, he could have blitzed the division and moved to 160 and higher later?
probably cause he's comfortable at middleweight and can destroy everyone there so no sense in hurting his body by losing too much weight.
Two reasons. One being he started his career in Germany, and in Europe 160 has more money than 154. (can you name a single Euro 154) Obviously in hindsight the decision to start in Germany, with promoter Universium (Europe's Goossen ) was a mistake. The second, is the 154 noises from Team GGG were mostly made when he first started fighting in the US before the HBO/GBP split. Most of the 154 money crossed the street. So just staying at 160 with belt, and not struggling with weight each fight made much more sense.
it;s not his natural weight. butf planned correctly, he can definitely do it few times esp against big attractions. the way he fights, 3-4 a year, it will put too much strain in his body draining too much in short periods between fights.
