    Round 1

Vargas is sticking his left jab and ducking away, face dropping to his right as Novikov throws counter southpaw 1-2s at him after checking the jab. Jabs and crosses up top and hooks on the body from Vargas, mostly blocked as they circle and leave plenty of room, giving each other respect.

    10-9 Vargas, close and uneventful.

Interesting round. It looks like Novikov is giving him a bit of trouble.

Vargas is kind of a wildcard man. I honestly thought he'd lose against Ogogo, whose extremely talented. Looks like he's struggled lately, hasn't looked like superstar material, but where he might of been outskilled he's shown alot of grit. Gets sloppy late in fights tho.

I don't think HBO was ever going to show that fight.
Jesse Vargas vs Anton Novikov is on now
Kovalev vs Caparello next and then Rios vs Chaves

    Round 2

Vargas is scoring with the sharp jab and circling to his left, pushing off with the soles of his feet and keeping his stance fixed. Novikov is missing with his right jab as Vargas dials him around, throwing quick jabs and not pausing for a receipt. Vargas ducks and rolls, slipping a Novikov left. A couple of right jab feints by Novikov stepping in, ducking down into Vargas and hoping to hit the body. Vargas pulls the chair out from under him and continues to out-jab Novikov at range.

    10-9 Vargas

    20-18 Vargas

"The rounds are close but I see Vargas edging them..."

    - Col. Bob Sheridan

    :patsch Oh, Bob.

The 2nd wasn't even remotely close. Vargas boxed his ears off.

    Vargas is looking great.

Still only 25 years old and starting to come into his peak.

He's going to become a real good fighter by next year.
