I just watch the fight again to watch a bad ass DDT and I saw the ending again, chavez rub the wrist band of his glove in brandon right eye then used his thumb.

If you recorded the fight or have on demand I advise you to watch it again if you felt the ref didnt do his job.
Fight was stopped correctly. It is Chavez fault and he was winning.

    He was winning.

I will admit I didnt see it last night only when we watched it again because hbo was too afraid to have gotten it wrong and never actually played the replay like they normally would.

stop crying no room for it in boxing, you cant eye gouge even in the old cage bare knuckle days of gracies ufc 1 of 2 rules the other was biting. so we damn sure shouldnt support it

Ya he let him slide with the DDT because he didn't want to end the fight in dq but after the lacing he couldn't allow it to go on, the guy went past it.

Vic did a good job. Refs don't have the luxury of awaiting a replay, they gotta make the call NOW and then viewers watch replays several times, look over things sometimes for days and then feel free to criticize the refs call. It's not an easy job.

Yeah, saw it again in HD just now... Chaves totally was rubbing the laces of his glove in Rios eye with the last headlock.. and the DDT was totally 100% on purpose by Chaves.

He was asking to be DQ'd.. and that whole "What, who me?" look he gave Drakulich after being DQ'd... come on son.. you know what you just did.

It was a reasonable stoppage, you do know the ref has a up close very intimate vantage point the we don't possess, ie they see things that we don't.

If Chaves wasnt cheating the entire fight, I don't know what he was doing then.

everytime rios got in close he either beat the **** out of Chaves or got tied up and broke.

When they broke, Chaves would beat Rios to the punch 80% of the time, but inside, Rios won 90% of the exchanges.

Chaves would need a 3 ft force field to beat Rios on any night.:yep

    I agree
Exactly. I did not see it the 1st go around and then hbo showed the replay once and I couldnt see it. I assumed it was because chavez put him in the headlock....holding... but I watched it again to show my woman how your suppose to pull off a DDT and then the fight came to a end and I yelled hold on rewind it, thats when we saw the Lace rub in brandon eye then he used glove to finger bang rios eye.
Vic saw it and stopped it.
Its on Chavez because as mad as Rios got I just dont think he could have beat him.
Chavez stood in his own way.

Eh. Maybe. But drakulich kinda seems like the type that wants to be a part of the show. Kinda like NBA referees and MLB umpires that like to call technicals and throw guys out of games. Plus I dont even think he saw it. I think he just took rio’s word for it. Rios started complaining and then he waved it off. I know Rios isn’t the type of guy to lie and try to get out of a fight but still I think the ref should have to see the foul. I need to see the fight again. Actually I don’t. Time to move on. Hopefully Rios vs Provodnikov happens

That fight was a dirty affair on both sides. Rios was using his head like another hand. When Chavez first pushed Rios in the face, he was trying to lace him then and Rios knew it and knew why, cause he was using his big ass head as a weapon. Both fighters were dirty as hell. Rios got out dirtied and screamed like a *****. I'm not for that **** but when you bring dirt, expect dirt.
