So Jamie Moore shot, I wonder what he's got caught up in or was he mistakenly shot and in the company of certain irish criminals.
Sorry to hear that. I had a tenner on Samir El-Mais but didn't see the fight. Bookies don't seem to know amature boxing which is a welcome surprise!
Genuinely sorry about Jamie Moore. Seems like a nice guy. Looks like multiple shots fired so it probably was an attempt to kill as opposed to just a warning.
That's the question innit? Call me bad minded, but I'm not buying the "mistaken identity" story. fair enought if it happened at some random location, but at Kinahans villa? Come on! It occurs to me that maybe Jamie was doing a bit of moonlighting from training Macklin as a "minder"or security/bodyguard for the Kinahan mob perhaps? In that capacity he might have fallen foul of someone? (My other theory is that Macklin shot him. Jamie was pushing him too hard on road work. Shouting "come on one more hill...lift those knees...get the lead out of your legs". Matt just snapped and said ..I'll fix it so you can't lift YOUR knees...I'll put some lead in YOUR legs" pulled his pistol and ...bang ...bang.) I rejected the second theory though when I realised Macklin misses most of his shots!
The Macklin show in the stadium on August 30th has now been canceled due to the shooting of Jamie Moore
I'd say the cancellation has more to do with negative PR issues, and possibly some input from Hearn, surrounding the shooting, than operational boxing reasons. Seamus Macklin could have deputised for Jamie, if say Jamie was simply injured in a car crash for example. The Sunday World, for one, would be all over the gutter aspect of the shooting. Question now is will Macklin ever fight here again? Hope this will persuade Macklin to break away from the "mob" scene. If it does, some good can still come from this disaster.
Thanks, the whole situation is a disaster and with the show being cancelled, its went from bad to worse
