    Hopkins has been in slow and steady decline for nearly 15 years. But he is still an elite fighter and an enormous step up from any of the stationary opposition Kovalev has been pitted against.

    I don't think Kovalev will get a huge amount of credit from the general public even if he obliterates Hopkins. Fighting B-hop at this stage of his career is huge risk for little reward.

    "Prime Hopkins schools *insert fighter to convincingly beat old Hopkins" will be all over threads if he wins.

    I'd rank cleverly as a harder challenge than Hopkins

    Young undefeated,never been knocked down ,beaten a few top 10 175 pounders and beat Murat like a dog the guy who gave Hopkins trouble a year ago

    Mark my words shitty mod when Hopkins get beat to death or fakes injury to escape people will realise this

    Cleverly-kovalev was a 50-50 fight until kovalev destroyed him and he became a bum

    As a lifelong Hopkins fan, who has watched pretty much all of his fights in the last 25 years, I totally agree with you. I have always maintained that Hopkins' peak performance was against Glen Johnson, in 1997.

    If one does not see a clear difference between the Hopkins that fought Johnson, compared to the Hopkins that fought Beibut Shumenov this April, then that person should never talk about boxing. Comparing a 1997 Hopkins to a 2014 Hopkins is almost like comparing a 1986 Tyson to 2003 Tyson.

    Exactly, Kovalev is an excellent offensive fighter, may not be enough to beat Hopkins, but Kovalev's ability is there to see.

    I read thread after thread exactly like this about how Chad Dawson had no chance. About how if you thought Dawson had a chance, let alone picked him, that you were a clown with no knowledge who should be banned. They actually quoted my breakdowns and made scumbag personal attacks and vile remarks.

    Needless to say, Hopkins fans are among the biggest piece of trash fan bases out there.

    Raiders fans don't sit on forums for weeks insulting people who have predicted one of two possible outcomes... And then go silent when you turn out to be dead wrong.

    Raiders fans more than most fan bases are realistic about the lousy team they've thrown out on the field ever since Rich Gannon.
