I don't blame Ward for not fighting. He has a lucrative position as the rising young color commentator on HBO. Not bad for a guy thirty years old. He could take over from Lampley as the actual announcer or play by play guy as Jim isn't getting any younger. He certainly has the voice and smoothness of delivery like Lampley for that position. Why get your face punched in when you have all these on-camera alternative career choices? Guys like Korobov and GGG have no choice but to fight for big money and fame. Ward has other, easier choices and is exercising them right now. He's already as good as Roy Jones as a color commentator and Roy is very good.

 

? Floyd is #1... why would you put him as an option.

Everyone + their mothers know Ward is #2.

 

Most people don't know who Ward is hence why he can't fill a seat capacity of 2,000. Maybe some people will recognize him as a commentator.

Froch was exposed horribly in that fight.

 

He was beaten by a fighter with a better skill set. Only Ward really bested him. Froch is a great fighter who will pretty much always lose to Ward. Jake La Motta was a great middleweight fighter but pretty much would always be bested by SRR. I hope Ward And Froch fight again as although Ward will win, it will be a rugged battle and exciting to watch. Anyway, I agree that Ward is number 2 p4p as he won the super 6 and defeated all comers in a talent deep division.

No a neutral location is called for. British refs are a joke. They stop fights much too soon and blatantly favor hometown fighters. The British judges are bad but the refs are just terrible.

 

Doing better numbers as a commentator? Yea I bet so many tune in to see him talk since he hasn't fought. Kovalev at least will fight Hopkins who Ward has said he wouldn't fight. And compared to Froch he is a nobody. I wish he was fighting too! I was hoping Ward and Dirrel would represent and make a lot of noise and then take LHW but it just didn't happen.
