I don't think it would be close. Matthysse has pretty good power but Khan has shown to take punches better @ 47. If this fight happens at 47 (Which it probably will), I see Khan giving him a huge boxing lesson. Far too slick/far too quick. Khan busts him up something awful. :deal I see Khan knocking him down like he did to Collazo 3-4 times, cutting him up and beating him up bad. Winner gets Garcia. Garcia knocks either one out imo.
If this happens (which would surprise me, actually), Khan gets stopped early unless he lands some powerful stuff before Lucas finds his range, which may take 3-4 rounds. I do not see Khan avoiding Lucas' power for long though, and once on the receiving end, I don't see Khan lasting long.
No one gave Garcia a CHANCE vs Matthysse.. They claimed that Matthysse would knock him out in 3 rounds Garcia spanked that ass. It isn't farfetched to say that Khan would beat Matthysse. Khan would go in as the clear favourite imo. Khan has the tools to easily outbox him. There is no way Matthysse can outbox Khan. Khan has enough power/speed to give him a lot of fits. He can knock Matthysse down easily.
I'd be quite surprised if the odds-makers agreed with you here. I also think you're making a strange jump in logic with your Garcia comparison. Are you saying Khan can take as good a punch as Lucas? I'm not seeing it.
If this happened at 47, Khan would go in as the favourite. He has the better resume and more proven than Matthysse at that class too. Well, I'm just saying, Matthysse's power isn't as overwhelming as many would claim. It isn't GGG/Kovalev level power. Khan has the far better skillset out of the two and has more than enough power to knock Matthysse out. I think Khan would go in as the favourite. I'd be surprised if Matthysse went in as the favourite here seeing as how vulnerable he looked against his last opponent.
Don't think so. Khan has shown to be very good at 47. Beating Collazo in that fashion. Crazy. Khan gets Matthysse, possible knockout after many knockdowns.
Khan could only win this fight if he could close Matthysse's eye...and that's not a joke. Khan doesn't have the chin of Garcia to handle Matthysse. I've never seen Matthysse as a great counterpuncher which is a problem for him in beating Khan...also he isn't that aggressive with his footwork...he likes to stand and box...which wouldn't work well against Khan...he'd have to come out guns blazing.
Still butthurt over Garcia beating Matthysse it seems. I see Khan outboxing him and giving him a boxing lesson with his hand speed/foot speed. I think it's going to be a demolition over 12 rounds.
